Hey, im new to the forum and im interested in making my own sub ohm liquid.
im planning to buy 2x100 ml 80/20 vg/pg liquid
one being with 3 mg nic and the other being 0 mg.
Ill intend to mix them both leaving me with 200 ml of 1.5 mg e liquid.
I generally get very poor flavoring from prebought eliquid (not so much anymore with my new tfv8, but it just chugs my liquid now so i need low possible nic level, as well as amazing flavor.
i intend to buy in addition with my bases

1x vanilla custard 13 ml
1x strawberry 13ml.

is this a good flavor combi? i know its pretty much personal prefference, but ill imagine it would taste good.

So 200 ml base + 26 ml of flavoring, all good?
i do see people generally saying 5 ml flavoring to 95 ml of base, and a lot of the storebought liquids are 2-3 sometimes 5% flavoring, but given the numbers ive shown ill be approximately above 10% flavoring, which dosnt sound too overwhelming, whats the boards opinion?

thanks in advance.

both the vanilla custard and the plain strawberry flavorings are from the brand capella.
i intend to use one of each meaning 26 ml, but im thinking if i should add another one to make the flavor stronger meaning that ill add 2 times strawberry and one custard resulting in 39 ml total flavoring.
whats your opinion ghola?
and thanks for responding btw

You can start with less and always add flavoring if it's not strong enough...
ALso note - adding the flavoring will slightly lower the overall nic strength, but it sounds like that's probably OK with you...
To recreate a precise recipe, you can use an e-liquid calculator...

And to save even MORE money later on, you can buy stronger Nic, then use that calculator and mix in plain no-nic VG to reach the final mix you want.

i understand that i should allow it to steep thats why im slightly on the edge to be waiting with adding flavoring. ive never had an eliquid that is TOO tasteful, one of the better ones ive tried has been the moliq new york one(i havent tried that many, cause im on a budget so i usually tend to buy the cheaper ones.)

but yea so im happy that you think it all sounds good. im wondering, is the amount im adding with 26 ml a middle of the pack in terms of general flavoring level for eliquid of is it a fair amount, cause i do want it to be heavy on flavor hence why im contemplating a second strawberry shot resulting in a total 39 flavoring if ur opinion is indeed that the 26 is middle of the pack flavoring in terms of mixing it with 100 ml of 80/20 vg pg,

From what I've seen of Cap Strawberry Custard recipes, your flavor totals look to be on the heavy side. Especially the strawberry. Try googling "Capella Strawberry Custard" for percentages.

It would be a bummer to mix up that large of a quantity and end up with something you don't like. What I would do, before you commit to a whopping 200 mls, is make a small test batch of 10 mls. Try it out at whatever ratios you feel will work and see if it's something you can live with for 200 mls.

BTW, your proposal (200 ml of 80/20 1.5 mg base + 26 ml flavor) will net you approximately this:

Ignore the cost, that's my cost based on what I pay for ingredients.

For future reference, your flavor ratios are
CAP VC 5.78%
CAP Strawberry 5.78%

Those are reasonable amounts, IMHO.

If you're up for the test, it's doable without mixing equipment. All you need is a 10 ml bottle...those Capella bottles have dropper caps. 12 drops of each flavor, fill the rest of the way with base, and try it out. It's not exact, but it'll give you an idea.

I would recommend using a calculator to figure out your starting percentages first, using maybe 15ML for test batches. This way you have lots of room to tweak and change your recipes. Also it is very very important to be accurate with your nicotine or you will find out what the meaning of Nic Sick is.

I'm a high percentage mixer and I typically mix to up to 30% total flavor. This prevents me from having to steep my juice for more than a couple of days.
The flavors you picked are fine at 6%, IMO. I would probably pick up some Bavarian Cream or Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for a third flavor.

I would try 10 - 12% for your primary flavor and follow up with 5 or 6% for your two supporting flavors.
As was suggested, get one of the free calculators that are discussed all over the forums.
There is plenty of information on the net and here. All kinds of free recipes. However, reading and going through the post's and blogs would be your best bet so you f yourself up.

10% cap vc
5% cap sweet strawberry
3 % cap marshmallow
2% hangsen vanilla

This is my strawberry custard recipe. Sometimes I add a few drops of sweetener depending on my taste buds.

Just so you know custard needs to steep a few weeks. It is wretched at first until it steeps/ages. No real way other than time for custards.

And you would be wise to try a 15ml as suggested first to ensure you like the flavors.
