DIY Ingredients List...

O.K. I'm new.

I've got a new ego-t, ready to rock.
I'm almost ready to start mixing.

I have:

(1) bottle-60ml/60mg nic, unflavored
(1) bottle-PG/USP, unflavored
(1) bottle-VG, unflavored

I'm looking for flavoring.
I want a tobacco. Haven't decided on
a brand yet.

My question:

Would it be in my best interest to get a
flavoring with, or without nic? Since the
price is the same, regardless of nic content,
would I save money/material by purchasing
a flavoring with nic included? Or should I
buy it without?

I'm up to speed with the safety issues
concerning the handling of nic, as well as the
procedures involved in the mixing process.
I've seen a few calculators, and looked for
threads concerning the process. However,
I'm still not in the know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey mike, I'm new too. It seems its way cheaper to diy! I bought one 60ml 18mg apricot for 24 $. I just bought a60ml unflavored 24mg base for 6$ , a 30ml blueberry for 8$. I could just add the flavor to the nicotine base but instead I'm going to cut it down to 6mg and that way I'll get 240ml of 6mg...

Take note that pg its pretty cheap like 16 bucks for a liter and vg from walmart like 3$.they both will last awhile.

If my math is correct the total is 33 bucks for 240ml of e juice, and I'll still have a lot of pg and vg left over.
So my savings from this batch will carry over to the next...

Honestly I don't vape to save money..i vape because I love the feeling from the nic...:toast:

Doing DIY from Scratch, Unflavored Nicotine Base diluted with PG, VG or PG/VG and then adding Flavoring can be cheaper to make than buying Flavored e-Liquids. It can also be Difficult to achieve the Flavor you are looking for. Especially doing Tobacco Flavors.

Many people start out by doing “Half-n-Half” DIY-ing.

That is buy your favorite Flavor Pre-Mixed from your Favorite Retailer in the whatever mg you vape. Then do your DIY to try and Match it in the same mg level. If it comes out Perfect, Great. If it doesn’t then Mix Half of your DIY with Half of your Retail e-Liquid and try again.

DIY takes some Trial and Error. And there will be some Mixes that just don’t taste good period. But Many times they can be saved by Blending them into Retail e-Liquids. Not Always but Many Times.

The Key to DIY is Patience and KEEPING DETAILED AND ACCURATE RECORDS.

That and do Small 5ml Batches and let them sit for At Least 3 Days before Testing and or Tweaking.

I just started to mix my own. So far so good but was disappointed in the TPA RY4 flavor, and to make matters worse I injected a Clearomizer with juice, now the flavor wont go away. I can even notice it with the cinnamon red hot in same tube. Blechhh.
Lesson learned, next time mix a 10 drop batch and direct drip to try it out. 6 flavors down, 26 more to go. lol
