I've been experimenting with making my own ejuice. I understand the risks of concentrated nicotine and am very careful with it. My question is about flavoring. How much % flavoring do you think is good? I've been doing about 10-15% flavoring and it just doesn't seem to be enough. I didn't know if juice high in flavoring % could do any damage to my cartos or attys.

Hi and welcome to ECF :)

It really depends on your brand of flavoring. If you head over to the DIY section (DIY E-Liquid) here in the forum you will find that members have put together threads for each major vendor (Capellas, TFA/TPA, Loranns, Flavor West, Flavor Art etc) There are generally big lists within the thread for the manufacturer(s) you use to use as a good starting guideline.

To much flavor is as bad as not enough. If you go past a certain point it will taste weak/bland. Many flavors in the brands and categories that I like I wouldnt go near 15% on, others need to be used at 20. It varies over a decent little spectrum. Those threads are fabulous resources!

Good luck and Vape on!

There is a whole sub-forum dedicated to DIY. Head over there and read since you cannot post yet. I have not ventured into DIY yet, don't have the time with my work. Would love to do it...

DIY E-Liquid

BTW I have the same last name, distant cousins maybe...

It varies greatly by flavor. Some tobaccos are recommended at 3%. I have a favorite vape I mix that's a total of 20% flavoring...
But yes, dig around in the DIY threads - somewhere there's a long list of specific flavors and recommended starting percentages!
EVERYONE says "start low, you can always add more" and "TOO much and flavor DECREASES, odd as it sounds".

Hello! Welcome! I am new too!
I also DIY and i find it depends on the brand of concentrate you are using. I use mostly 10-20%.... although steeping (letting the liquid sit for a while) makes a HUGE difference in flavouring. I've had flavours i couldn't taste at all, only to taste it two weeks later and it became my new favourite!
Besides from brands needing differing %'s, WITHIN a brand the % needed may vary substantially from flavour to flavour. So i guess the right answer is there is no answer!!

I plan on jumping into DIY very soon and I've been wondering similar stuff about flavorings. The 1st one I wanna make is blueberry & vanilla ice-cream, and I've heard that blueberry flavoring is weak. But I saw on Wizard Labs they have a blueberry "extra" flavoring which must be stronger, and that's the one I'm probably gonna order. As far as percentages, I have no idea at this point, but I was probably gonna start somewhere around 10% total between the 2. I also wanna try and replicate a mountain dew flavor I tried that has a nice sour hit to it, and I'm wondering if this is accomplished w/ the Lorann Tart Sour flavoring. It seems like you just gotta roll your sleeves up and start experimenting, but I hope none of the stuff I end up making is unvapeable lol.
