i've watched videos on making DIY liquid for my ecig, but now that im looking for a vendor to order supplies from, everywhere i look the nicotine has to have either a PG or VG base. doesn't this effect the PG/VG ratio in the liquid i make? another question i have, some bottles of nicotine i find online say things like "100mg nicotine", does this mean the liquid i'm making is going to be 100mg liquid?

you do need 5 post in order to post in the diy sub-forum, but you should still be able to read up about it. Nicotine is transdermal so you do need to becareful when mixing, getting a high mg liquid on your skin can make you sick. There's lot's of info in the sub-forum and knowing more about what your jumping into is always a good thing

i don't mean to derail the thread but is there any good places to buy the supplies?? The flavors you get at the vape stores but what about the best place to buy the DIY stuff. I been getting mixed results but then i havent looked too far into it yet. i seen some calculators out there for the nicotine which is probably what the OP should prolly look into

Read through the DIY forum, lots of good advice for supplies. The DIY shop they mention often is a good place to get pretty much everything, they carry most of the vendor flavorings, supplies and nic liquid and base, always have a discount and fast shipping. Sorry, don't recall the name but it is mentioned repeatedly.

Welcome to the forums. Judging from your questions IRT to nicotine, you should go to the DIY thread and start reading, especially the warnings. Wizard Labs is a good start for supplies but like I said, before you mess around with that nicotine, do some more research. As soon as you have it down and start DIY, you will never go back!

To make simple... Nicotine is listed as mg. (strength)... 100 mg. of Nicotine = 10% Nicotine by volume within the total volume be it PG, VG, and or both.
Most e-juice is a mix of PG, VG, and Nicotine.

Yeah, the nic liquid will come in a base liquid of VG or PG (that's my experience anyway) It will effect the ratio in whatever you make. I prefer a higher VG mix, so bought a VG based nicotine solution.

The total amount of nicotine solution you add to your DIY will contribute towards your overall PG/VG percentage.

I use ejuicemeup which asks what percentage of my nic solution is nicotine, and what the stuff is made of. I use 76mg (100ml) bottles currently and if I'm going for a 50/50 overall mix with 10% flavoring (usually PG) the math is as follows (making a 30ml batch) at 12mg nic strength..

4.74 ml nic liquid (VG based)
12 ml of PG
10.26 ml of VG
3 ml of flavoring

Give it a whirl. It's addictive mind! :)
