Hey everyone,

im getting into making my own E-juice in Canada for my friends and family because its growing fast and i know alot of them dont want to wait for orders, they agree i should start making them so they can buy it local.

so far

100mg nic juice from (does anyone know a place in Canada?)
Welcome to XtremeVaping.com

bottles from a local supplier.
Soap Making Supplies , Soap Making Products , Essential Oils , Aromatherapy , Lotion making supplies

flavours
from (anywhere else that might be local?)
Perfumers Apprentice - Professional DIY Flavors

PROPYLENE GLYCOL???
i am not sure where the best place to get propylene glycol is, i am in Edmonton Alberta. I dont really want to wait for another order and have another shipping cost. im trying to be cost efficient, i saw alot of places and seems like everyones ordering it... thought i saw someone say home depot had it... really not sure, i cant find it anywhere.

any tips on getting any of this stuff or suggestions would be a huge huge help.

looks like you're well on your way. I as well am looking into DIY and have a bottle of 30ml 60mg bottle on the way from GreenHouse One... I'm was a bit wary with dealing with that high of a mg level, don't even want to come close to 100mg!

I was hoping to get a DIY "kit" but have yet to find one in Canada. As far as PG/VG I'm ordering mine (or can pick up locally) from Happy Vaper Propylene Glycol USP Grade.

Some have said they had some luck purchasing their PG at Shoppers as well

Hey there Sadoway, Happy Vaper has all kinds of diy supplies and speedy shipping also. No nic juice but everything else you might need including tons of flavours, bottles and measuring things. His prices are fine with me but I haven't shopped around a whole lot. I figure what I might save ordering stuff here and there I would spend and then some on shipping from different places. Also I am hooked on his tiramisu flavour. Heavenly. :vapor:

Be really careful with that 100 mg stuff - makes me nervous just to think about it.

Also at shoppers you can get VG if you need/want it.

Enjoy,

Karen

You have to ask for pg(without nic) from a pharmacist (there is a thread on here about where to find it in Canada) as for vg it is labeled as glycerin USP and you can buy it off the shelf at most pharmacies, it is used as a topical skin emollient relieving dry chapped skin and minor burns, I think I paid about $5 for 100ml
Good luck to you :)

Shoppers drug mart has 250ml bottles of Life Brand Glycerin (VG) for $5.99...just bought some today. I think it was in the same section as the rubbing alcohol. :)

I thought it actually had to say "Vegetable Glycerin USP" I've been to 3 places that all had Glycerin but no Vegetable Glycerin. Am I looking for something that doesn't exist?

And yea Happy Vapers is the place to go especially if you have 100mg nic juice. But like others have said be careful, wear gloves. I'm nervous for you :/

I ordered 500ml propylene glycol from Rexall and it was only 8$, I just told them i was making soap and body lotions. they had Glycerin there, but it didnt say if it was vegetable or not. so i assumed it was not and did not purchase it.

It was very fast, it was there the next day!

*edit*
Im still looking to find the highest concentration for nic juice in Canada, preferably 100mg

I get all my diy supplies from perfumers apprentice, and happy jack. Now for my vg I get that direct from Buy NOW Foods Vegetable Glycerine from Canada at Well.ca - Free Shipping and my pg I actually got from the states. The nicotine I have gotten only from one source in Alaska, and I tell ya, the prices here in Canada for it are insane. You are practically paying 1 dollar for 1 ml of 30mg. It is ridiculous. People quit smoking and go onto vaping to save money. I am sorry, but Canadians who do sell it underground are making a massive profit for our misfortune. I have very huge disrespect for being taken advantage of that way. I have enough nic now thank god to last me a year..at least I hope. So hoping we can get this ban dealt with by the time I need more nic.

Danesnpits honey...you know I'm your friend, & that I totally respect you.

But I don't accept that our Canadian suppliers are "making a massive profit for our misfortune." The United States has ten times the population of Canada - so it makes sense that there'd be ten times the number of suppliers down there, with ten times the product being imported...and hence, greater competition (with more competitive prices).

But that doesn't mean we're getting hosed here. For example...at MadVapes in the States, you can get a 30mL bottle of 36mg flavourless PG w/nic for $8.29 USD. Here in Canada, you can get the same thing for $20 CAD. Now that may seem like a raw deal, but it really isn't. Our suppliers are fewer in number; they risk their time, effort & money to get the stuff here in the first place. I can only imagine how frustrating it has been for them when they suffer losses on that score. Also, I dare say the risks are higher to a Canadian supplier than to American ones - especially when one considers that there are American e-liquid manufacturers there (and none here, not yet anyway). So American suppliers have more options open to them, which include less risk to their financial stability.

Are we really going to begrudge a Canadian supplier $10 to $12 over a bottle of e-liquid? Is anyone going to go bankrupt because they paid $20 instead of $8.29? It's more, yes...but it's still totally affordable.

Consider something else: when you order from a Canadian supplier, it doesn't run any risk of Customs seizure, because it doesn't go through Customs. You can relax, knowing that it will arrive safe & sound. And it'll arrive way, way faster & fresher than an order from America or China (assuming such an order made it through Customs unscathed).

That speed of service, freshness, & peace of mind...are definitely worth a few extra bucks.

I honestly don't see any of our Canadian suppliers becoming mega-rich from this, either. You won't find Jack in a gold-plated Aston Martin anytime soon...or Kat in a diamond-encrusted dress, lol. We're talking very modest profit margins.

---

So if people want to order from America or China, running the Customs risk & waiting for weeks on end for a product that might never arrive & will not be as fresh as a Canadian order...all to potentially save a relatively small amount of money...that's their right.

50% off of a peanuts-price is still just a peanuts-savings.

All I'm saying is that it's not really fair to complain about our Canadian suppliers when their prices are still totally affordable, and fairly reasonable when you factor everything in...and still way the hell cheaper than smoking. And most importantly, a bazillion times better & safer for you than smoking too!

Just sayin.

P.S. For what it's worth...I'm sure that once we have achieved victory against HC, and manufacturers have market authorization in Canada...we'll see better prices here. Under those conditions, better prices won't hurt the suppliers; their customer base will grow exponentially, for one - & they won't be running risks in getting their product here in the first place.

Rachel, I am only looking at numbers honey! A buck saved is a buck in your pocket. From a gal who has indeed had to import my nic juice, and the amount I will be able to use for DIY compared to buying in Canada, in a years worth of time of doing my DIY, that is a heck of alot more in my pocket at the end of a year, thus helping me continue to save money with my new habit of vaping. The price here is alot of money. 12 bucks a week or month, difference is alot. I am just looking at the big picture for a die hard vaper. I do support Canada, but I can't fathom paying the prices here for nicotine unflavored juice. I just can't.

Now with that being said, once my imported juice has been used up, I will have to start buying here in Canada, but that won't be for a year and I am hoping by then that the ban will be lifted. I have enough to last that long. If I were to have to buy in Canada, for a whole year, the amount they are charging, I would be spending the same if not more for analogs. So that brings me to another question. I went from smoking to vaping to save money and my health, if I can not save while vaping, then I have to think about quitting vaping too. And just getting off nicotine period would mean substituting chewing my nails and pulling out my hair instead. My health and money are my 2 main concerns when I got into this hobby of vaping. My health will be ok now, but my pocket book won't if I have to pay Canadian prices. And for me, now that I got my health on track with vaping, is that I now must start saving or it won't be worth it in the long run.

My smoking put me in debt, vaping is now saving me money. I think I am winning the battle now, and not having to worry about going through withdrawl. With our Canadian dollar being worth more than the states, and the prices in the states, it only makes sense for people to have the mind set to save and buy from there, so we can use that extra money on other things such as living expenses, and for me right now it's renovating my house. I would never be able to afford the reno's if I were still smoking. I would also not be able to afford them if I was spending the same or more on vaping. I also have a breeding buisness that goes on here, that also puts me in the hole. I would never consider getting out of my animal venture, but I would consider getting out of vaping because of the prices here in Canada.

Just my 2 cents on how it is for me being a buyer here in Canada.

You know, I see this argument on the rc forums all the time too. support your local hobby shop or they will go out of business. I do, when I need stuff fast. but I hate paying $100 for a servo I can order from a hobby shop say in new york, and pay 40 for th same servo. $8 to ship and then less taxes overall % wise and less again for the amount I paid. I could get 3 for the price of one. so something is up.

I have bought from evapers, northernvapers, happy vaper, nicfitnation and vapour solutions so I do support local. and some have even cut me deals or tossed me in freebies.... (not to mention my recent purchases from forum members in canada). I actually only tried to get juice out of country once and it got turned back by hc. but I won't begrudge anyone that wants a deal. it's not fair to make them seem like the bad guy for just trying to save money. I do feel some of the markups by some vendors in unreasonable, but there has to also be a profit margin built in for loss. I don't know (and have never asked) what their loss ratio is, but to get supplies you can imagine their orders are quite large and a favourable risk to their investments. not our usual $100 orders. probably more like $1000 a shot. so not all vendors are out of wack. they just need to be creative in todays' market to keep customers loyal is all. vendors can't just expect loyalty though because friendship and business are 2 different things. good business minds know how to create a loyal customer base, through contact, customer service cost/availability and incentives

Idk about that one specifically but Wilton's Glycerine from michaels works great, I'd imagine it's a similar product, I cut mine with about 20% distilled water tho cause it's impossible to work with otherwise (think molasses).

Someone in the DIY forum posted an awesome trick - throw your VG in the microwave for 10 seconds. It turns to the consistency of PG and stays thin enough to do syringe work with for a while afterwards.

The freshness of any liquid that you get will most likely be the exact same as to the best of my knowledge all nicotine liquid comes from China and is subject to the same shipping times at some point or another.:toast:

A small amount of money is a big amount to me! Just sayin'. Unless you wanna become my sugar daddy vaporguy! No seriously though, you know, supporting Canadian vendors is important right now. I am guilty of going over the border, but Rachel is right, without our support of Canadians, then why keep fighting HC? Rachel you did open my eyes of the importance of Canadians right now who support the vendors here, for purposes we should all be aware of. I wouldn't want any Canadian Vendors to fall off the face of the planet all because we decided to join forces with the United States and completely buy from them. It is important guys to support our Canadian vendors. Without them, we have nothing.
