DIY: Tank keep Cracking! SOS

So i made a couple batches of black cherry pie. Did my normal thing, nothing different what so ever. Poured it in and i had liquid running down my hand withing 30 seconds... hmm that's weird, luckily i have like 10 or so tanks i can use and i tried it again.. this time i literally watched the glass tank split in half in my hand in about 10 seconds... i found a solution with using my plastic tank instead, but it still kind of sucks that i lost 2 perfectly good tanks today. WTH happened? What causes this in the liquid? i know for a fact its not the tank because i used both of them all weekend/week long.

There is nothing in your e-liquid that could cause glass to crack. Glass is glass. It's susceptible to micro-fractures, thermal shock and breakage from dropping, over-tightening, etc. If your tanks are borosilicate (aka Pyrex...misnamed and a rant for another day), the only way to even etch them is with hydrofluoric acid or sandblasting.

You're welcome Ricky. Sorry about your tanks. I remember one thread...he posted a picture of a melted tank that was sold to him as glass and understandably he was upset thinking it was his e-liquid, and upset again when he found he got ripped off and was sold plastic, not glass at all.

Couple things you can do that may help. Go easy when tightening things up. Don't put cold liquids in hot glass and vice versa- this is generally not a problem but as you saw, a micro fracture can go from 0 to 60 in a blink. G'luck. :)
