DIY Using Steva as sweetener?

Hi all
I am doing my first DIY eliquids. I found out I was allergic to PG so I am having to do all VG stuff now and am trying my hand at making some of my own stuff. I made a small batch of butterscotch earlier but it was bland even with a 10% flavoring added. I think it needs a bit of sweetener added. I am still getting in my components to make all this mad science experiments gone wrong hehe so I do not have any ethyl maltyl crystals yet.
I could have sworn that I read somewhere here someone talking about using stevia instead to sweeten their ejuice. I cannot find it now. Can anyone here pitch in if they have tried using it and how their experimentation came out?

I use Stevia because I don't like the aftertaste of sucralose. After checking the ingredients in different brands I settled on this one. Some contain alcohol and other ingredients and this was just stevia in glycerin.

What brand of Butterscotch are you using? Might just need to increase the % of flavoring.

As GoodDog said, you can use Stevia to sweeten depending on your tastes. You already know about Ethyl Maltol, and you can get a free sample of Sucralose from EZ-Sweetz.

I've started and experiment making my own stevia glycerite extraction with 1/2 cup of the dry herb 2 oz. water and 8 oz. VG. It's in a crock pot of water set on warm.

By the way Starchild47, if you're going 100% VG, Ethyl Maltol isn't going to dissolve very well unless you dissolve it in alcohol first and mix that with the VG.

I am considering using stevia myself and wonder if you ever tried Now Foods French Vanilla Stevia? I wondered if it could be used not only as a sweetener but also as a flavoring.

If anyone wants to make their own stevia glycerite it worked!!! 1/2 cup stevia c/s dried herb 8 oz. VG 2 oz. water in a tightly closed container and warmed in a crockpot of water on low for 2 days. Strain out the herbs. I used approx. 10% in my vape and is very sweet.

Great work! Now all I need to do is get a crockpot.
