Hey everyone!
Just finished my diy custom order VV Box mod build and I'm very happy with it. Running a 2.0 Ohm smoke tech atty at 3.5-3.8. I was just wondering if someone could post a link or give advise on a better regulator that doesn't get so hot. I already ordered a 3.0 Ohm Carto to run higher to take some strain off of the regulator. I am also looking into thermal pasting a tiny heat sink. Just curious to see if there's another solution or a better regulator. Thanx

Here's some pic's of it completed.

I'm not 100% sure, haven't gotten around to fiddling with making my own mod (yet), but wouldn't a drop down regulator create more heat? It'd be easier to run the batteries in parallel that to drop the higher v down?

I'm far from expert in this though, just taken the early steps in design of mine.

I'm not sure... other than heat the more limitless potential the better. I don't want to be limited to >3.7v just in case I see a cool new 3Ohm atty or carto I want to try.

Was it a kit? Where did you buy it?
No it wasnt a kit, I ordered it all from madvapes. I just put a list together and built it, no super glue or hot glue btw. just JB weld to hold the 510 connector. Everything else fit snug or was cut to fit snug.

Protected Trustfire 14500 Battery, 900 mAH x2
AG-126 Lithium Ion Battery Charger
Battery Voltage Indicator
Variable Voltage Regulator Board Kit Rev 2
Transparent Green 3xAA Battery Box with On/Off Switch
Prewired 510 Battery Connector, Sealed
Acrylic Drip Tip - A40
510 Smok Tech 2.0ohm Atomizer
Horn style switch, Green

Subtotal $45.36

Shipping & Handling $6.22

Grand Total $51.58

Great job! I just ordered the same stuff from mad vapes, but instead of using a battery box i will make my own out of wood. The only concern i got is how did you wire your voltage reader, do you use a switch to turn it on?
no switch, I wired it in kinda weird to be honest. I wired it with my 510 connector so that whenever the button is pressed it will show a read out. You can put a switch in line to your indicator if you want to turn it off but it doesn't bother me coming on every time. Sometimes the pot turns in my pocket and I will notice right away instead of wondering why my atty tastes burnt after dripping.

The Volt indicator wouldn't fit in a AA slot after I got a message back from madvapes saying it would. the prongs and board spill over into the next battery slot. so I took a pair of wire cutting dikes and broke the plastic between the prongs and unsoldered them out one at a time. Still didn't fit, so i took a dremel and ground the protruding chip down till a battery cleared and to my surprise after soldering back +/- it didn't work. I guess because i ground away the + connection somehow... so I broke out the multimeter and found another spot. (left top of pic)
