I would give someone and ecig for Christmas because my son gave me one from DIYFlavorShack as a Christmas present last year. Jan 1 I will have been cigarette free one year and in better health than I was a year ago. Chances are I would have never purchased one for myself after trying everything else since 1997 to quit smoking except Chantix.

A better question, for a shorter answer, would be why wouldn't you give an ecig as a gift! There is absolutely no reason not to pay forward this great gift we have all been given. E-cigs are really miraculous! How many people have sworn they would never quit smoking, tried and tried again to quit, didn't want to quit, starting vaping just to get around smoking bans but still intended to smoke analogs - and then, like magic, they are Non-Smokers!!!

We have given 11 kits away. Kits we either outgrew, won or purchased. Full kits, with juice and cartos and plugs and the absolutely necessary 2 batteries for when one is dead or one quits working! One went to my nephews friend and he quit and then passed it on to another friend of his who chews. One went to my nephews Dad who has quit a few times over the years but always started back up. He is having a surgery to lengthen the bone in his leg and nicotene inhibits bone growth. He is now at a very low nicotene level and about ready to jump into zero nic land! One went to a really good friend and co-worker of my husband's who was kind enough to go to the 3 funerals we had in the family in 2008/2009 - he has quit smoking and vaping completely!!!! Two more went directly to his co-workers and one now vapes and the other vapes and has gotten his wife to quit smoking as well. One went to a co-workers wife and she has quit smoking. One went to a co-workers' brother and sister in law and they have quit. One went to a good friend of my husbands and he has quit smoking. Another is being given to my husbands' best friend today!!! Two went to the Marie Christmas Vaping Package!

So thats 11 kits and, as long as the two Marines quit, 14 people quitting!!!! Only one of these people have started smoking again and hopefully he will pick the ecig back up and put the pack down! That is what I call amazing!

I am currently getting kits together to take to the VA Hospital up the street from me. My husband and I want to donate the kits and our time to teach the vets about vaping on an ongoing basis. I think that when you are burdened with a cigarette addiction and you find something that frees you and changes your life you want to shout it from the rooftops! I think that is a big reason the vaping community is so close. We all share a common miracle - ecigs have freed us from our addiction. How could you not want to share that?

I would and have and will continue to gift kits because it saves lives, it changes lives, it opens up new opportunities, it frees people, it pays forward and spreads the word, it improves breathing, it improves taste, it improves smell, it saves clothes & homes & cars from burns, it could stop a new generation from starting because adults around them smoke, it is a wonderful way of life and an introduction to a great community. I can't think of one reason not to give a kit.... other than maybe you like it and wanna keep it, but that's not a good reason and it never works out! My wife won a kit literally 40 minutes ago and already has a request for it so she is ordering the kit for a friend. That has to be the quickest a kit has been in and out of my hands!!!

Good luck to everyone! Keep paying forward! And thanks for the contest!

I never intended to quit my pack and a half a day habit of Red Buck light Menthol mini-cigars. This is what I had switched to after smoking Light Menthol Cigs ordered off the internet after Texas began taxing so much. Then Obama pushed the bill to make it illegal to ship cigs by mail. Then my two oldest granddaughters finally got approved to spend the night with me for the 1st time (6 and 4 yo) with the understanding that I would not smoke around them...in comes Aunt Pat with an ecig...510 I think...made it all night and until 10 am the next morning without a cig...grandgirls leave...back to cigars...fast forward 6 weeks...grandgirls can spend the night again...call Aunt Pat. This time she brought me an ego-T...wow...kept it an extra day...ordered my own...tested myself for 3 days on how long I could go without a cigar...day 1 10 hrs...day 2 all except coffee time...day three pushed through the coffee and am now on day 7 totally off the analogs!!!!!!!!!!!! Already my lung capacity is double, my energy level is through the roof, my husband thinks I'm on speed or something...I HAVE 6 1/2 CARTONS OF RED BUCK LIGHT MENTHOL CIGARS IN THE FREEZER IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO BUY THEM AT A DISCOUNT??????? Thanks to vaping....I quit smoking after 28 years...If I can do it, anyone can! So this win will be a PIF for Aunt Pat!

Really near the mexican border.
I just started working as a private duty caregiver. The lady I care for is around her late 80's, is on breathing tx's every 6 hours, and has had pneumonia twice in the last year.
She lives with her daughter and her partner of 25.5 years or something like that. Her daughter smokes like 2 packs a day and has many health problems of her own. The partner (or other daughter) has had a heart attack and she smokes around 1 pack a day. They both smoke premium cigarettes and those are running around 6-8/pack depending on where they buy them from.
Although, the girls do not smoke anywhere in the house, except in their bedroom, the house smells like smoke. Their animals smell like smoke all nine of them. The dogs do not go outside but are paper trained because they live on an extremely busy road. They also have 4 cats who are all having issues with upper respiratory problems.
Mom, is having issues with allergies and coughs and has to be suctioned all the time; it truely is a mess.
All three of these ladies are on disability. So it really behooves them to quit smoking. I have already convinced them to start with a mod, because at two packs a day the daughter will never make it on regular 510 or 808 batteries.
I have set it up with them where to buy the mods, where to get the batteries, and the carto tanks they will use. I told them I would make their joose because it's cheaper than "greensmoke" which the daughter tried last year and the tanks would keep her filled for most of the day.
Everyone in the house suffers, the girls, their mom, the animals and me when I go to work.
If I had the money I would give them both a double eGo kit, 20 cartomizers each and some joose OR 1 mod a piece, 4 batteries (18650's), 2 tanks a piece and several punched cartos and of course jooose.

If I win this contest I will use the winnings to make their jooose and get them started on their way to a healthier year, next year. Of course they both smoke different flavors of cigarettes and the daughter loves camel menthol where you can bite the filter and get a 'burst' of menthol, so her jooose has to have extra extra menthol for her to quit.

I really want to help this family, but at this time, because I don't have full time hours and my household is again very poor. Even if I don't win I will be making them jooose, it just won't be in the same quantity.

Thank you for the contest.

I would give an ecig as a present because it has made such a difference in my life, in just 4 short weeks :) I have numerous friends who ask me about mine all the time (usually while I am online, or at work when i don't have it on me :( ) and several seem interested, but are scared of the upfront cost. The one who has asked me the most questions has had horrible bronchitus off and on for months now-but most people around my town do not know/understand ecigs at all. It is a good learning experience for everyone though!

I would, and have, give an e-cig to someone because I do not want them to get cancer. I hate cancer. I have lost 2 loved ones to cancer this year and have another one fighting it. That's this year. In years gone past, there have been far too many more. If this post wins, the prize goes to the next poster. I hope they share the prize with someone that still smokes, to help them quit!
Thanks, Dawn, for all you do- we appreciate it! :)

I don't need Christmas as an excuse to give an e-cig kit as a gift... I do it all year 'round!!!

(and if I am lucky enough to win the DIY kit, I have someone in mind for that, too...)

okay some more reasons to give an ecig to someone this holiday season other then the obvious health benefits.

1. Its taste better then a fruitcake (unless fruitcakes are your thing...)
2. Skilled vapers can use then to communicate in morse code (manual batteries work best)
3. you can find a flavor for just about any meal...
4. The look on their face when you switch the menthol in their cart to the infamous Crab juice.

nuff said, thank you and goodnight.... Thanks Dawn for a great contest and best of luck to all that entered and i wish you all Happy Holidays,
well its time for me to goto work, /sigh/ and i want to find out who won.

PM. Vegas is Pacific time, I do believe. And yeah...can only imagine she's pretty busy. But, I know what you mean. I'm getting the *twitches* - waiting for vapemail, AND to see who wins!

Whoever wins, heartfelt congrats! And Dawn, thank you so much for doing these kinds of things!

I've been practicing gloating, in case I win. But...all I seem to be able to do is grimace and make a "heeheeheehee" noise like Candice on Phineas & Ferb.
