I love pj's. Six years ago my boyfriend got me a pajamagram. I opened the hatbox the pajamas come in and saw a beautiful pair of purple satin pj's. I picked up the top and put it on, then put my hand in the pocket and found a velvet jewelry box.
Our 5 year wedding anniversary is this June, and we just welcomed our third son. :D

That's a sweet story, Thren.

I don't really have a good story. I'm not especially romantic, and I'm not prone to being attracted to romantics, either. :/
It's pretty much the only romantic thing he's ever done lol.

That IS so precious and special.
Thanks! It really was. One of my best memories. :D

Our first Valentine's Day together my then fiancee now hubby got me three gifts that I thought were so special. Now some might look at the third gift as similar to getting your wife a toaster or a blender but I loved it. He got me a CD I had been wanting, this showed me he paid attention to what I liked. He got me a single pink carnation because he knew that was my favorite. The last gift was the best of all. He got me those elastic clips that go on the corners of your fitted bed sheet because he knew I hated it when the sheet slipped up off the bed. He is a very romantic man and has done many wonderfully romantic things for me over the last 19 1/2 years but I will always remember those bed sheet straps because they tell me he is paying attention to me, he cares about what I want and need!

I met my husband on Valentine's Day 2009.

I had gone to an all-day party at my friends house for all our single friends. We played croquet and drank white russians all day! Then after dinner, 2 friends called and both of them wanted me to go to a bar (they were both at different bars). One of them was a 45 minute drive away from me and the other was right down the street. The one 45 minutes away had a boy she wanted me to meet. However, I decided to head to the one down the street from me where I was friends with the bartender. I got there and the friend that had originally called me to come out was busy making googly eyes at someone, so I just went up to the bar and started talking to my friend, the bartender. Turns out, I had sat next to his best friend from high school and introduced me. That was it...we have been together ever since, even though at the time he lived 2.5 hours away from me!

We were married March 10th of last year. I am looking forward to many more Valentine's Days with him!

My family and I received word on valentines day 2000 that my grandmother was in the hospital with a stroke, and needless to say we all rushed there to see her.

The woman/ grandmother who was the center of all family events, who throughout her whole life, as I knew it, was full of nothing but unconditional love and always willing to do whatever was needed for any of us in need, be it financial or emotional, and while she was not rich in money, she was rich in love, and for a woman who was only 4'8", a force to be reckoned with..

she had just retired from her job less than 6 months before and was looking forward to doing some traveling, and we were at the time she retired, very glad for her.

And now she was in dire need.and we prayed as much as we could but it was not to be,and she went peacefully later that day. We shed tears, but I think that what struck me most of all later that evening was that it was valentines day, a day to share our love with those closest to us, well to me I looked At it as she had released all her love and seeds of wisdom that she had given to everyone one of us to be given out to those around us, strangers and to those we know.and I have to the best of my ability and with her whispering in my ear, unconditional love is truly love of the best kind. There are never any strings attached, and unconditional love is not performance based.it is in its purest form, Love that a mother feels for a child, a father for his as well, and a wife or husband for their spouse..

We found out later at her funeral a few days later that for many many years, she had been buying and taking grocerys to a family in less than good circumstances.. And she had kept it quiet all that time..

I also came to terms with why she had to go as she had worked so hard and did so much for others, and yet was taken 6 mos after retirement and could not enjoy her reward, well, you know, the good Lord took her to her reward, and while it may of seemed too soon as far as we could tell, I am sure she is having a much better and grand ol' time where she is now, and she deserves every bit of it..

Valentines day since then is a grand day for me and a day for celebration, and to look within myself and to make sure that my love for another is not based on performance or what they have done for me, but what more can I do to make this life a bit more comfortable, or just be there for someone who may need a kind word or a hug and I know that no matter what, it is always the right time for it..

You said best Valentine's story, so though mine is not romantic, I think it's funny.

One year I needed a new vacuum. Hub brought home a new Bissell and told me that was my Valentine's gift.

A few days later I was at the hair salon and told the ladies about my new vacuum. One said the best story they had heard was from a customer who's husband gave her Breathe Right strips for Valentine's so she would stop snoring. I said, Hey that makes my vacuum sound down right romantic.:D

this made me laugh out loud! I guess a vacuum would like pretty darned romantic after hearing about the poor lass that was given no snoring strips. omg!

I'm with you... although it's not that I'm not romantic, or dislike having romantic things done for me... I like it more when it comes as a surprise, and not on some Holiday that was made up just to sell more Greeting Cards!! :p

What a VERY touching story K3vin.

I don't have a specific story to tell ... just the "norm" ... flowers delivered, dinner out, etc., etc.

But I think the best Valentine's day was my daughter's "special day". On Valentine's day she got her baby Emma.
Emma is a sweet, beautiful little Corgi - my daughter had wanted a Corgi for a very long time ...
and she was able to rescue this little dog,
whose been such a joy to our entire family.
