My boyfriend wanted to treat us to a spa day so he went online and booked a well reviewed spa for the both of us. It ended up being one of those happy ending places posing as a luxury spa. There were all these shady characters walking around and the locker room was co-ed!

OMG Estaz that's so funny!!

My favorite Valentine's Day was the year my wife hid little scavenger hunt type notes for me all around the house. There were three locations with presents. One present was a video game I had been wanting, another was some silky red intimate apparel for her to wear and the last was a really nice SF 49ers jacket. We've been together almost 19 1/2 years now and we have only celebrated 4 Valentine's Days with gifts or dinner out and we like it that way, it's better if it isn't something you have to do but something you want to do.

Congrats on the win!!!

My Valentine's story isn't actually romantic at all. It's about meatloaf. My mom started making heart shaped meatloaf (topped with ketchup) for Valentine's Day when I was 5 or so. She's made it every year. One year she even sent me a small personal sized heart shaped meatloaf at work when I couldn't make it for dinner! When I got married my husband married into the meatloaf tradition and now he agrees: it's not Valentine's day without it!!!

My ex-fiance used to do so much that he got me called the b-word not just on V-Day but during the year from time to time.

Valentine's Day was the topper--usually started with flowers delivered, then specially ordered presents in the mail, old-fashioned valentines cards either handmade by him or a crafter he found... Each year was different but equally romantic and special.

The unusual part? He did all this long-distance--we lived a 9-hour drive apart at the time!

There were reasons we didn't get married, but he tried so hard to make sure I knew he loved me that everything was an excuse for a romantic present (including the basket-hilt rapier sword that was my engagement gift--I love swords so while a lot of women wouldn't think it was as cool as I did I thought it was the height of awesome).

I remember growing up that Valentine's day was always a big celebration. No brothers so Daddy would always get Mom a huge pink or yellow or red heart with satin ribbons and all with candy and smaller ones, though just as pretty to us, were for my sister and I. We often had gifts too. Not always but sometimes. It was extraordinary. :)
