Hey guys, I'm currently using an IPV D2 and a uwell crown with the RBA section. To be completely honest, I don't feel the need to upgrade anything right now. However, after seeing all the fuss about the dna 200 mod, is it truly worth the value? I do want a mod that is future-proof, since the IPV D2 cannot upgrade its firmware. Other than the upgradable firmware, the customizable screen, and the high output, should I even consider the dna 200? I never vape above 30 watts anyways, would it make a huge difference to my vape experience?

The DNA 200 will last you a while, I agree computer parts become obsolete pretty quickly but luckily this isn't a computer. Honestly no matter how you vape 200w will be more than enough, now Evolve does refresh it's chips but honestly as long as they keep updating their escribe software there is really no need to ever upgrade.

The difference between this and any other mod is consistency, if you like a constant vape that's regulated well the DNA will do you well, if you like to tinker and enjoy fine tuning a vape this chip does that well, if you like pretty screens theres that too you can add custom screens and what not.

It's not a bad purchse but I wouldn't call it a MUST have.

Last week, variable voltage. Yesterday, variable wattage. Today, temperature control. Tomorrow...who knows? Quantum vaping? :w00t:

Personally, my habits haven't changed in ages and I don't need high wattage. All my box mods go way past what I need. Still, I do have some modern boxes, and it's generally true that the less you stress the electronics, the longer it should last (all else being equal). So going higher than you need serves that purpose, plus leaves you room to grow on if you need it.

I say, if you want and can afford the DNA 200, go for it. Just realize that at (for instance) 15 watts, it's going to vape pretty much the same as a Vamo.

It's all personal preference, I'd wait a while and see how things go if you are happy. We all know the longer it's out the cheaper it gets, lol. I still vape on mech. mods so to some newer and bigger, isn't always better, to each their own. If you are happy and have money to spend, explore more liquid flavors and accessories.

I would look into a DNA 40 first. Hcigar makes one that looks pretty nice I've seen for like 50 bucks. If 30 watts is about as high as you go that should be more than suitable. $150 to $200 + really is alot of money for a mod (at least for me) and while I am happy with my Hcigar DNA 200, most of my set-ups require higher wattage and/or higher temps.

Got the efusion. I actually vape at 100w+ though. If youre at 30w and determined to stay there, its probably not worth it.
Having a power device just gives you options though.... if tomorrow i want to try 200w for some reason, i can. Titanium, i can. If i want to control how mu vape ramps up, like if i want it to kick up watts almost instantaneously or gradually for a few seconds to reach desired temp or wattage, i can. If i want to use ss, nickel or titanium wire in tc, i can. If i want to save a profile for all the atties im activrly vaping including tc or power mode and include a picture of logo or whayever i feel like it for each, i can. If i want to move watts up n down in 1w increments or .5 increments or keep it at .1 increments, i can.
Basically its anything you can need right now, presented the way you want it. Full control.

No, your vape experience will not change.

As has been said already, who knows what the next advancement in vape technology will be. TC as it's done today is OK, but it's no where near plug and play. When that changes I suspect none of the current mods will be upgradable to include it.

IMO if you're not feeling the need to acquire a new mod now, wait.

Your average computer purchased today will be obsolete in months... Seems like the vape industry is moving much much faster. I am not sure if anything is future proof anymore :0

Not completely. You need to spend the money on a system that is a little future-proof, and it can be done.

I have a Dell Alienware Area 51, with 6 cores, One- Nvidia 980 GeForce GTX, 16GB RAM, and two SSD drives. Currently I can upgrade it to 32GB RAM, 6 SSDs or a RAM drive with 500GB+ of 3D RAM, and FOUR - Nvidia GeForce GTX TITAN X video cards. By the time I'm ready to upgrade in 3yrs...the sky is the limit, and I'll be able to throw in a 12 core Intel CPU.

It is all in how you shop.

I like the Wismec Reuleaux Evolv DNA 200 MOD, and a couple others.

If you vape at 30W now, you will experience a profound change by buying one of these box mods. I do not have one, I have a 75W and 150W Sigelei and I love them...but there is nothing wrong with the DNA 200 box mods.

What you are going to be able to do is to vape a lot longer, at lower ohms, get more flavor, more clouds, and change the batteries every two days. Better experience all around.

I would get a DNA 200 mod that is compact and set up for 2 18650's. I use TC and never go above 440 degrees and 30 max watts. I would use the software to set a hard limit at 40 max watts and use 2 3000 mah batteries. What I want from the DNA 200 is the data it can save about vaping activity. The 3 battery wismec is bigger and heavier than I want.

I vape at 25 watts ( ISUB apex .5 ohm coil ) to 60 watts ( Herakles .6 ohm coil ) and occasionally 80 watts ( TFV4 with tri or quad coil ) and have no need for a 200 watt mod, and don't really get into temp control ( I dabble )...

That being said I got the Releaux DNA 200 from the trade forums pretty cheap, as well as the Releaux non DNA 200 on black Friday for 40$.... WHY?

I hate removing batteries to charge a mod during the day... I don't mind removing them at night... but during the day I have stuff to do. With three 18650 batteries I think charging during the day will be eliminated. Do I need the DNA mod? Honestly I cant really see a difference in the vape quality at low wattages.

I suggest for anyone with shinyitus that normally vapes at low wattages, to try the Releaux x200 ( Non DNA )... three 18650 batteries ( I use the 3000 Mah LG brown ones ) you will have a really great customizable vape for a decent price.

what do you mean by customizable vape? my store does sell the reuleaux mod (non DNA 200), and i do find it quite attractive. I saw on the review that says the magnetic door for the battery doesnt completely close off, so if u press on it or handle it someway, it will still move around a bit, which is the same situation i have on the D2 that i don't like. What chip is the reuleaux using? Because even if I dont get a DNA 200 mod, i still want a new mod for a relatively cheap price that has a better chipset than the D2, which in my opinion is decent.

Depends which version you get, the RX-200 is powered by a Joyetech chip the DNA 200 powered by an Evolve DNA 200. One has escribe software (DNA 200) in which you can really go into detail and fine tune a vape the other (RX-200) just has pre-sets so no fine tuning.
