Hi,

Today I received my dna and using it with my Russian 91% V2. When I received my dna 30 I built a new coil for my Russian 30 V2 at 1.8ohms. Early I tried a vape at 30 watts and it was warmer of course but just a minute ago I tried to vape one try at 30 watts and I got a burnt taste. Do I need to build my coil different or tighten or loosen my air control on my Russian V2 to keep from getting a burnt taste? Sorry if this sounds stupid but I've never had a mod that reads over 15 watts so help needed. Thanks

If you want to vape at high wattages you need to make sure that your atomizer can wick well enough with your juice to keep up. If you're vaporizing liquid faster than your atomizer and wick can deliver juice back to the coil then you will eventually get dry hits and possibly burn your wick (depending on the material). The KFL/R91 is a great RBA but it just can't keep up at 30W. Something like an RDA where the wick is just sitting in liquid can work well at 30W depending on the wicking material and juice. Genesis atomizers with SS mesh can also wick well enough to keep up at higher power levels. You can enjoy your R91 on your DNA30 but you need to be mindful of your power settings and not crank it up to 30W.

The russian/kayfun types generally aren't at their best with high wattage vaping. You could do a dual coil or sub ohm build and go somewhat higher but in general they are efficient flavor beast that don't require high wattage to get the best out of them. I generally do a 1.2 - 1.5 ohm build anywhere from 12 - 15 watts with them. Just because you have a mod capable of 30 watts doesn't mean every topper or build you put on it will be capable of handling it

You'll need to do a sub ohm or dual coil build with lower ga wire and a wick capable handling a lot of juice in an atty with optimal airflow that is designed for handling the heat higher wattage levels deliver in order to get an optimal vape that high. Also research and use the right batteries, when you're approaching those levels you're putting alot of extra strain on them.
