I apologize if this isn't the proper place for this post, please move it if that is the case.

Ok so I just ordered a Cana dna 30 by Cloupor and my buddy says that was stupid because I could've gotten 2 mech clones for the price. He asks what's so much better about them vs a mechanical. I told him because it's regulated and doesn't have the drop off of a mech. He doesn't seem to believe it. Can someone tell me the main pros/cons of a dna 30 device vs a mechanical?

Unfortunately since you bought the clone, you may see some dropoff.

Yep sounds like you are right but I also want to add since I have a Cana clone I think it might read the ohms. 1-.2 off so this could be part of it too

Yes, the clones are underpowered. Generally they do not reach a full 30w.

Mechs are for super sub-ohming (below .5) and a regulated 30 watt really shines at above .7 from my experience. I'm never putting a Kayfun on a mechanical after trying a Cana on it but the power limit of 30 watts won't be enough with lower ohms like .5 and below. I personally like my drippers at .3 ohm and it is super lack luster at 30 watts in comparison to a copper mech.

Good thing there's high wattage dual 18650 box mods.
