Hey folks!

So I have this idea for a hands free setup basically involves a combo of a shisha pipe and headset type of thing. So basically my idea is to use a pressure sensitive switch on the tip to be activate by the mouth during hits. Now based on the info on the dna-40 pdf it says that because of the circuitry a high power switch is not needed. So can I get away with a 50mah switch on its own or should I wire it through a SPST relay? An if through a relay can you recommend any dc-dc step up converters that will go from 3.7V to 12V

if you buy the bare chip instead of the breakout its smaller -- you would still need to run power to the chip and the output back to the device though.

the pressur sensor is not a bad idea a quick look on google turned up some "high precision" ones on ebay that have 003kPa resolution and from what I'm seing peole can typically inhale a maximum of 10kPa

The only problem with this approach is that you need a microcontroller to translate the Serial data being sent by the device to an high/low signal being sent to the dna40 or very small relay.

plus side is that you could put this and the DNA40 on the device side of things instead of on the end of the tube.

Hope your thread doesn't get deleted -- they seem to be a little sensitive about talking about e-hookah things around here...
