huh?

the nivel chip was designed in russia. the problem was twofold. there were some supplier and manufacturing problems, as well as no american distributors. the dna series got a foothold by being made and produced here where most of the mod makers using it happen to be. i have a nivel mod and I like it a lot, until some of the dna 20 mods become a little more refined I still think the semovar is better. It may not have the wide feature set of the 20 but the PWM is very high and clean, cant remeber ever needing 20 or more watts on a regulated mod anyways.

I would be very leary until it is proven its not a cheap copy of the screen and wattage limit.and Alibaba is probably the last place in the world to trust a product description until it is actually on the market.

I still contend that if you need to hit 20 watts on a regulated mod you dont know how to build a proper coil for it.

of all the mods I have possibly seen labeled as "game changers" i think the futura and aerovapes 30watt vw "k" are the only ones.
and none of these companies will unthrone provari until they offer service and reliability, just a new chip isnt going to do it.

I just meant that it's difficult to get ahold of, especially at a decent price. It's out of reach for most vapers, which is what I meant when I said "is there really a nivel chip" implying it's not really an option for most vapers.

there are quite a few dna20 mods out there that aren't "hideous" and quite reasonably priced. I agree the opusd is not one of them.
shan mods, fazedboxmods, and mamu mods make some good looking, well built, reliable mods. some for a lot less than a provari or opusd. an e-mail and some patience and you've got yourself a nice mod that didn't come from china. of course, eventually you knew they were going up their game and build a dna20-like chip. they certainly are industrious with their billion and a half cheap labor force.....

Many of the DNA20 devices I've seen appear to be quality, but I'm just extremely picky when it comes to form factor. Considering that there are tons and tons of mech mods available, and only about 8-10 of them I find attractive, that should give you an idea of how picky I am ;) Just a personal preference thing.

I just checked out the Aerovapes website. WOW. These guys look good and very innovative! Going to be very interesting to see what they turn into.

yea I hear ya, was half asleep when i posted so...... lol
I also think as well as it is designed with all the delays and supply problems any real hope of mass adoption for nivel is gone at this point.

I understand the picky part. box/odd mods hold zero interest for me, and the few mods out of the gate so far while looking good fall flat on some very important features, several of which are being implemented into the futura. they posted on here one night and they seems very interested in understanding what people want and even commented they may tweak the mod to some of the feedback we gave him.

things like the cyborg were killed off for me as soon as I saw it used an aluminum head/threads. they are talking about offering SS as a future upgrade but I shouldnt have to buy parts to make the mod more durable. and then again I may be in a minority but when I spend that kind of scratch I expect performance and durability OR serviceability. already people complaining about the not so perfect machining and scratched bodies out of the box. and a few in the classies already.

people often rag on spending close to 200 for a mechanical but anytime i want I can go to atmizoo and order parts, read the designers blogs and whats new. watch tutorials and even talk to them directly, that kind of service is worth every penny to me. same with the provari, outdated/oldschool or not, not matter how stupid or insignificant my questions I had answers the next day. my updated provari within two weeks.

service will be the ultimate game changer for one of these new chips.
