1.8 or 1.5 ohm heads. slowly raise the watts until you enjoy it the most after the coil has broken in....(for me usually 9-9.5 watts max)

How are you guys doing this with PTs? I have never been able to raise it more 8W. This is with a thirsty tuft of cotton... With silica, stock heads, I can't pass 6.5 W...

????????? These dinky wicks can't handle these crazy wattages... What am I doing wrong?

I'm planning on doing some high resistance coil after my DNA20 get built up because of the boost-only limitation of the DNA20...

The Protanks require substantial modification to use them over 7 watts (they are recommended at a max wattage of 6.5). The wicks are not designed to handle that wattage. Really, if you want high wattage like that, why not get an RBA, where your limits are much, much higher.

6.5? I never go below 8.5 with stock coils and no modification- never had a problem and never had a burned out coil. everything from 50/50 to 100% vg liquid. use either a dna20 or my sigelei v5 flat top. using an aspire clearo today with a 1.8 ohm bottom coil with 50/50 liquid at 8.5 watts- absolutely terrific! can't figure out why so many people have so many problems, unless they don't actually
1.clean and maintain the coils regularly
2.know how to actually draw on an e-cig as opposed to a cigarette.
3. put the clearos together properly
like I said, I am at a loss to explain why I have never had a leak, dry hit, or flooding on ANY clearo I have used to date. has to be more than just luck......
