I got a question for the dna mod builders, I bought two DNA20's Hana Modz and today I bought a authentic DNA30 chip, and I see they both use the same USB charger, and the same 18650 Sony VTC5's batteries, can pull out the DNA20 chip and un-solder the fire button and the up and down buttons and the charger leads from the dna 20 and re-solder in the DNA 30 chip, what wattage of soldering iron would you recommend I use, and what would I use to un-solder the chip a solder sucker, the braided copper ribbon wire. its been awhile since I have used a soldering iron and removed solder. is there in tips or tricks I should know, thank you

Well wattage of the iron is debatable. It depends on skill really and how quick the solder wants to melt and type of solder used and material being soldered. I use a 20 y/o iron that too this day is one of the best I ever used and it's probably around 50+ watts. I used it for wiring to acid etching soldering piano wire.... To soldering chips back onto an xBox. If I used a solder remover... I use a sucker. But most the time I leave the excess on the board and heat the solder up from the back as I push the new wire through or into place. The excess is reused, but you run the risk of melting the board if you are not careful or the solder doesn't melt quick enough. I also stay away from rosin-core solder and use flux out of a tube or tin when needed.

My skills a probably well above average, but I say the swap should be pretty easy and straight forward if you done some wire soldering in the past.

I see I can go online and down load a PDF file of the wiring schematic of a DNA20 and a DNA30 to see the wiring is the same. When I was in junior high, the shop teacher turned me onto Heath Kit electronic kits that you can build different ways, cause they give you different resistors and caps, and used basic ohms law to figure out that using different resistors gave different effects.

DSC00049.jpgDSC00046.jpgDSC00050.jpgDSC00048.jpgDSC00047.jpgCheck it out I got my DNA30 chips today, got to wait for FastTech to ship my Hana DNA20 mods I ordered Memorial Day, there was a two weeks wait before they ship, then I hoping it will be another two weeks and I get my mods. but it will probably be a month or more. That's why I might not buy from them again because waiting for something you paid for when ordered it sucks, they got there payment right away and your still waiting, it sucks,
