I have a couple of questions about charging the Wismec Releaux DNA200.

First, is it okay to do the first charge using the USB? (My 4 port charger won't arrive for a couple of days)

And, should I label my batteries and put them in the same slots of the Releaux every time or should I rotate them in there?

In a perfect world, rotating your batteries is probably best. With DNA200, I don't think it's really necessary. It has a very good balanced charging board, it will shut down if one of the cells hit the soft cutoff mark. If you are concerned, you could always hook it up to Escribe and check the individual cells.

Another thing you can do in Escribe (in the screen tab) is set your 3 charging field screens to battery cell 1, 2, and 3. Don't forget to turn the charging brightness up (it's set at 0 from the factory) I set mine to somewhere between 50-60. That way you can monitor all 3 cells while charging from the display. Lastly, if you do rotate your cells, be careful around the positive lips of the battery sleds so you don't rip the 18650 wrappers.

I look at it like this. With mine, the 3s Lipos are always in the same slots (there not in slots, but wired in the same order) so to speak and the voltage of each cell are very close. Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Steve

Steve...thanks for your informative reply! I think I won't worry too much about it, especially if rotating or not is debatable, as I know that the DNA200 has lots of protections built in.

But...I've heard that Brandon did not make his Escribe updates, etc, available to Apple computer users! Is this true? If so, I'm out of luck big time.

As of this moment, there is not an Escribe version for Macs. I've read it's being worked on and should be ready by the first or second quarter of 2016. That all being said, there are ways to be able to run the current version on your Mac. I have a PC so I can't tell you which method is the best, but I can give you a link to the Evolv Early Adopters forum where they discuss how to do it. Here's the link if you are interested.

Edit I almost forgot to say. Your welcome, always happy to help!

Cheers,
Steve
