Tech question - if you were building the DNA40 into a metal box, and the 510 connector and the battery negative were both connected to the metal housing, would you run 2 ground wires, one to the batt- (pin 11) and another to the atty output ground (pin 8) terminals, or would you use just one wire, and if so, would you connect it to the batt- (pin 11) or the atty output ground (pin 8)?

I am thinking I could use one wire from the metal box to the atty output ground (pin 8), but I have no idea if the DNA40 is going to like that, just not sure really. I guess it is designed to read battery volts from one end and atty resistance from the other, but if both are connected by a solid piece of aluminum will it matter? I might have to ask Evolv, but am hoping someone has already been down this path.

Did that with my sx350 and it worked fine but I cant comment on the safety. You would only need one wire running from the box to the batt - pinout (and one wire to ground the box of course). The ground and batt- are internally connected in dna chips.
