On a whim, I recently purchased some V2 LiquiMax Blanks (V2 LiquiMax Blanks (3-Pack) - V2 Cigs). I've never tried a clearomizer before as I've been very happy with cartomizers and cartomizer tanks.

These things taste like plastic to me, and I don't like them. If I just take the cap off and suck air through the cap, it tastes like plastic. It makes for a truly horrible vape IMO. I even washed them out and soaked them in vodka, but the plastic taste remains.

Do you think that I need to write off all clearomizers because they will taste like plastic to me or has someone encountered this problem and can recommend another brand?

I'd be content to NEVER use a clearomizer again - I just want to make sure that I'm not judging them unfairly.

I'm surprised you're getting a plastic taste after a vodka soak. That said, I found the LiquiMax terribly inconsistent. The two best clearos I've used are the Kanger T3 and Innokin iClear 30. For me, dripping is the best, but not very convenient for me most of the time. Carto/tanks are my usual choice for when I'm anywhere but the living room. I use clearos for sampling flavors and for NETs that are known to clog up cartomizers quickly.

I've used a lot of clearos and have never had a plastic taste. I would suggest giving another brand a try. I always used the CE5 and liked it other than some occasional leaks. Yesterday I received the kanger T3 and absolutely love it. I also tried the CE3 for the first time yesterday and its also great. Almost as good as the T3.
I don't like cartos at all because they all taste like I have a mouth full of cotton when vaping them. Similar to drinking coke I guess. I can taste the difference in coke packaged in a can, glass and plastic bottle. It's a very subtle difference but its there. If that's all your tasting I would say clears may not be for you. If its a stronger taste of plastic then you need to try a different clearo. Did you check to see if the clearo has primer in it? Maybe that's what your tasting?

Thank you all for the replies.

I had read that some clearos have primer, so I figured that flushing it out and washing it and soaking it overnight in vodka would take care of that.

Although I can taste my juice, I cannot escape the consistent plastic taste as well.

Next time I need to order something from a vendor that carries T3s, I'll pick some up and try again. Fortunately, I'm very happy with my current setup.

the T3s have a silicone donut right on em, but it's much smaller than top coil silicone covers. I'm thinking its the quality of the silicone. The smart companies make sure they get the good silicone that doesn't smell or give off odors from warming.

The knockoffs and cheap manuf just get the cheapest they can, and it sucks. If the majors would only realize that saving a few cents is costing them $thousands in bad experiences...experiences that turn off customers permanently to their brands...they would wise up and fly straight
