Hello all

So as the title states do E cigarettes have any effect on asthma ive been doing some research the effects but can't really come to any conclusions, i've been smoking for about 4 years and was born with asthma although ironically analogs have no real effect on it aside from the usual smokers cough, I'm trying to quit but don't really want to give up smoking so i want something to fill the void.

I have an allergy induced asthma than is common in this area. I smoked for over 40 years, lived here over 20. It’s amazing how many people on here say they smoked and have asthma. My lungs feel tremendously better having quit cigarettes. My asthma hasn’t gotten worse, nor does it feel like it has improved. I’m still allergic to the same stuff I was before but I sure seem to recover faster. Quitting cigarettes is a flat out win, you will feel far better. If you have a sensitivity to something in the liquid, that would be a different story. I had a wee bit of difficulty getting used to vapor, made me feel like I was getting asthma sometimes, but it passed quickly by stubbornly sticking with it. I hope you try to make the switch. Best of luck to you!

I have asthma as well, I've noticed I can breath MUCH deeper and clearer. Every now and then my chest does seem to tighten up a bit or I get really congested but it was the same even before I smoked so I don't think it's the vaping lol. I know how you feel, I knew I had to quit but I realllly enjoyed nicotine, as anyone who smoked would.

My personal experience from vaping tobacco free 15 months....my asthma has improved.

My asthma is seasonal, hayfever and allergy based. The only time it is an issue is during the Fall and Spring.....for a month or so each Fall and Spring I used Adavair and have to use my inhaler a few times a week. Been this way for years.

Since I started vaping.....I have not had one single asthma event. I have not needed to start Adavair or use my inhaler.

As with many things, particularly those that are allergy induced in many cases, it varies by person. Also by ingredients.

There's some e-juice that gives me hives (allergy related) and could trigger asthma I guess. And many insist that smoking can supress asthma for the smoker (although 2nd hand can trigger it too.) Strange. Then there's the whole smoking<->COPD <->Asthma link.

Impossible to answer a general question like that in a specific way. Maybe you could answer for one particular juice for one particular person's asthma problem if you knew all the details. So use caution, and good luck.
