I was wondering i use cappella flavors... and the vendor (chefs flavors) has a chart under each flavor of "percentagevin recipies" or "single flavor reccomendations" i was wondering whatvdoes this mean ...that some flavirs need less or more of an amountbin a mix... and is what it says there accurate ... ?
Would appreciate some knowledge if anyone has.. thx

"percentagevin recipies" - In a mix, combined with other flavors, as a % of the total mix.
"single flavor reccomendations" - If you're going to mix this as a single flavor, as a % of the total mix.

    Here's a rough example, using 6% of Cap 'xxx' in a new 100ml mix. @70vg 30pg.

    Single Flavor - 70%VG or 70ml, 6% or 6ml Cap xxx, 24% or 24ml PG = 100ml.

It makes sense to use %'s as it scales no matter the size/quantity you want to make.
Take those values as a rough starting point, everyone's taste buds are different.
Nicotine can be suspended in PG, VG, or some combination like 50/50 etc.

    Good luck

"Recommended" percentages are just that... A general idea of how differnet flavors perform best at different percentages. Some flavors are definitely stronger than others so it can be a decnet starting point. I think some manufacturers just give percentages as standalone but I think some of the recipe sites will give a full recipe with recommended "percentages" for each flavor.

Regardless of which question you are asking (sorry, it's a little early) I'd say start maybe a bit below the median flavor? If you have to add a tiny bit more flavor later, that's easier than flavoring down. However, if you are just coming from commercial juices, you might want to go a bit higher.

I tend to flavor pretty lightly, usually aroudn 5--8% of my total mix, and I don't use much sweetener either. After some time flavoring and my taste buds grew back, well, I find many commercial flavorings over flavored or harsh. So, pay attention to your taste buds and also keep in mind that "taste" will change, possibly, as you continue DIY.

    Best of luck,

    Anna

Thank you but what im tryingvto understand is if the reccommendation is actually the reccommended amount that should be put in.. does that make sense?... also it says "median".... what does that mean?
    Thx

In Statistics, the Median is the "Middle Value" of an Ordered set of Data.

So if I listed the Percentages that people said they used for a Flavoring, in Order of Least to Greatest, the Median would be the Value that is in the Middle.

    exm:

    2% 3% 5% 7% 9% 12% 15%

For these Percentages, 7% would be the Median Value.

"Recommended" percent is what's suggested to get a mix that tastes like they think it should taste. You, or any other specific person, may or may not like it to taste that way. But it is (or may be!) a reasonable starting point.

I view ALL recipes that I come across as starting points, and adjust them to my tastes.
