Not all mods come with COAs (only my King did, of my 3 authentics). If you're concerned about resale, print out the page where you bought it from, and a copy of the receipt from the site. Don't really have any other suggestions for you.

I am insanely jealous, though - that's a beautiful mod, I've looked wistfully at them before. :)

Having trouble accessing that page for some reason. Thought if I was familiar with the company I could help, but I'm not. I agree there should be some type of verification that it's authentic if you're paying a lot of money for it though.

Vintage Vapours out of California. They have a B&M and a facebook. I don't know of them..

Pretty sure mine is a copy, the design is to uniform and it doesn't look like the picture. One side looks different, mine looks all the same. I doubt it's white gold, something isn't right about it.

Looks hard to fake. If your unit appears fake, it is. Return it immediately. Contact your credit card company (consumer protection). Should be very easy to test if it is gold plated.

I have a collection of authentic mods. None have come with a COA. Some manufacturers, however, have begun online registration, and record of serial numbers/owners. I have only purchased from manufacturers or authorized dealers. In today's market, which is inundated with clones, I'd never buy a used mod, advertised as authentic, online.

So if you're not intending to ever sell these (I assume you wouldn't expect OTHER people to buy from you either, like you would never buy from other individuals), then what's the point of "collecting" these "authentic mods"?

Ego? Bragging Rights? Pathological Hording?

Because it's obviously NOT because you see them as an "investment" that will appreciate in value. For an investment to be of value, you have to eventually SELL it, after all.

Just sayin'... ;-)

I've never sold a high end mod. Most of my high end mods rarely leave the house. I'm not into it for resale, showing off, or value appreciation. I just enjoy owning and using them. Simple as that.

Many of the really expensive devices like the one you bought and all of the even more expensive Otto Carters ( see VapeRev) are MODs made by other companies ( GG, as an example) , that they buy and embellish with hand carved, .

They buy mods and they make them unique by adding their " art " to them. Then they become one of a kind or like yours 1/50. Only thing that worries me is that without a statement or written paperwork that basic MOD, could be an authentic Golden Greek or Atmizoo etc or it could have started off as a Sieglei , clone, or other low priced MOD. What you are paying for most likely is the "art" applied to it and other details like the gold plating could also be a custom modification.

If someone had access to the tools and machines , anyone can take a clone or basic low end device and plate the contacts, modify buttons and engrave limited designs and then charge 500.00 or more. Just make sure you are researching the MOD, ask what the basic device is and if they are evasive about it, make sure you love the "art" because it might be a badly finished bargain MOD.

These are some of the ones by Otto Carter and on description they name the basic mod he used. He takes authentic high end devices and makes them one of a kind, but he does not make the MOD.

This is an authentic CHi You

Yeah, and they average 1,000 or more. THey start out as average of 200.00 and after he engraves them "by hand" .........

Take a look of this thing..... Its a cheap Ego that was covered in diamonds. Kinda silly cause when all is said and done its still a cheap plastic device that will be useless as the battery can not be replaced and inherently the diamonds once put to daily use loose their value as they get scratched. I cant remember the cost but it was outrageous. It was a gift to someone's girlfriend http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...tte-created-Russian-oligarchs-girlfriend.html

I wonder if he had the Ego charger encrusted with diamonds too.

I can say that none of my iHybrids have come with any COA or for that matter anything but the tube and foam, for me not that big of deal, don't remember if my GG came with one or not, but for me it isn't that big of issue.

Glad you got it all worked out, tho if this is something that is important to you, you can always contact the seller before buying and ask if that comes with it.
