Here's my symptoms. A week ago on friday 7th, I tasted a new 12mg nic juice, apple pie and custard which is very sweet and delicious with a nice subtle cinnamon flavour in it. The next day, the flavour wasn't quite as full. It got worse over the next few days. Right now though and the whole of the week just gone, everything tastes bland, watery, no sweetness, (I ocassionally get some if I crank the power up, and even then, rarely) no creaminess, and I can only detect some of the flavour in any given juice. Everything tastes like crap. It's frustrating, particularly as I have half a dozen brand new juices sitting here that I want to enjoy. I have no problem with food, everything tastes perfectly normal and full flavoured. Is this symptomatic of vapers tongue or should I not be able to taste anything at all?

I have to add, I seem to have what's called geographic tongue. Patches on my tongue where the surface has disappeared. vaping aggravates it and makes those patches very dry and with a sensation identical to burning your tongue on a hot drink. This might have something to do with it, nevertheless, I've had this same condition when the apple pie and other juices tasted good. So maybe it's a combination of this and vapers tongue, or maybe just vapers tongue?

This loss of flavour started after vaping a lot of 18mg nic from my IGO-W, giving me an uncomfortably peppery taste at the back of my throat. I'm wondering if that had an adverse affect because all I've tasted the last few days is bitterness emanating mostly from the throat. As you can tell, I'm quite confused and racking my brain for some sort of reason! Suffice to say, my vaping has been miserable for over a week now. My coconut caramel and hazelnut honey which used to be lovely and sweet, just tastes of blandness now, no honey or coconut to taste, but just some hazelnut I think.

Sound very similar to my experience with vaper's tongue and I also experienced it about a week into vaping.
It lasted 2 solid weeks for me and was a huge bummer.. had me in a bit of a panic with the quitting. I remember I got home from work and had an order of brand new juice waiting for me and it tasted like *nothing*. Tried some other juices and they also had no taste at all... just suddenly out of nowhere. The only thing that would work for me is menthol because I could at least feel the coolness.

Then one morning I woke up and realized I could taste a little bit of sweetness and by the end of that day I could reasonably taste my flavors again.

People will give you all kinds of crazy "remedies" too. I tried them all and not a damn thing worked. I would say to not waste time with them. The only thing I'd recommend is to make sure you're brushing your tongue since that's good hygiene and certainly can't hurt.

During all of this most food tasted fine but I did find I needed extra sweetener in my coffee.

The good news is that over 7 months later it hasn't happened again and everything tastes better than it ever did!

Get yourself some powerful menthol and hang in there.. it will definitly pass.

Ah, well if yours lasted 2 weeks, there's hope for me yet instead of going to the doctor! Yeah, I think I'll go back to my snake oil aniseed citrus vape, it's a very strong flavour and might help.

Yeah, from what I've heard, 2 weeks is a bit on the longer side, but not unusual either. Perhaps yours will come back sooner, but if not don't worry. The day you get your taste back you are going to be over the moon!

Had anybody tried oil pulling??
I do that with coconut oil, been vaping a little on the heavy side for just over a week and don't notice any drop in flavor..
For the record, oil pulling is rinsing swishing oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes (coconut oil, sesame seed oil, etc., etc...)
Lots of info if you Google it...

Hmm, interesting, might be worth trying. I've got olive oil here I could try swishing with? But coconut oil, sesame seed and sunflower oil seem to be the ones recommended. Will this be the right product to use? Groovy Virgin Coconut Oil 283Ml - Groceries - Tesco Groceries

I woke up with vapers tongue this morning. (duh-duuuuh, duh-duh)

But seriously, yes I did. Second time for me. Everything I vape tastes like the inside of my mouth. In other words, probably something, but nothing that I take notice of.

I think I'm just going to vape unflavored PG with nic for a while, until it goes away. Last time it took 24 gruelling hours before I could taste any vape at all, and a few additional days before my sense of taste was fully restored. I hope it is not a two-week thing this time around.

That sounds like me too. I've had a dry taste in my mouth for days. Even after eating, instead of the food taste lingering, it's as though my mouth has had no food, like when I first wake up. I bought a tube of Biotene gel to rinse in my mouth, which hasn't made any difference. It's £8 a tube, quite expensive, so waste of money for me. I also just bought a bottle of multivitamins and minerals in case extra zinc and iron, or anything else, might be needed in my system. In particular, it might also help my geographic tongue. So I now want to swish with coconut oil, but I just seem to be throwing money at possible fixes, and it's getting expensive, and coconut oil isn't cheap either. Might try my olive oil first.

Its organic , I wonder if GM free means genetically modified free, but ya that would work.
It will be solid at first, I chew it a bit get it liquid, then I take a shower and start getting ready for work, by the time 20 minutes is up you got a mouthful....heh
