Do I need a Provari?

The reason I ordered a Provari is that I started with a $49 e-Smart kit. But I didn't get the right vaping experience out of it after a month. I came to ECF and learned a lot, and then I started thinking that if I started trying all the different options out there it would cost me more in the long run than just slapping down the bucks for the best. That's why I sprung for the Provari right out of the gate. I seriously considered others, especially the iTaste models, but after reading that those users wanted Provaris, too, it just made sense to get the Provari. Just my logic. If I couldn't afford it, I certainly wouldn't. And if I had to put on a credit card without paying it off immediately, I wouldn't either. I live entirely debt free, including my mortgage, and I would never go into into debt for a Provari. Just my thoughts, people, not knocking anyone here.

If you are content with what you have, be happy! But contentment can be a fleeting thing.
I started with an 808 cig-alike. Got off coffin nails. Upgraded to a bigger (mah) 808. Next upgrade I was thinking of was a Halo Trident V V. All within a month's time span. Was I going to keep making incremental upgrades? Was a 510 system in my near future? Would it be $50.00 - $75.00 - $100.00 every other month as I chased newer/possibly better? Then I started reading Provari threads. Decided to cut out the fooling around and get the Provari. Still happy. Works well. I'm content. Though my next mod will be a REO, a bottom dripping mod. Perhaps I feel the need to 'squonk' (g)!

Nobody NEEDS a ProVari... But everyone who has one certainly likes them very much :)

There honestly won't be too much a difference between the ProVari and any other mod, as far as the vape is concerned. I notice a bit of a difference, but it's minor.

Where the difference is huge is build quality, reputation, warranty, customer service, and overall satisfaction... There is a reason the ProVari is widely regarded as the top of the heap in the APV market on these forums. Especially these days when everything is all about Variable Wattage... The ProVari is rather "Low Tech" in that regard, but what you'll quickly find out is that VW is easy to live without.

If you have the extra money and an itch that needs to be scratched, then by all means get one and I can pretty much guarantee you'll be more than happy with it. If not, then save your pennies up til you can comfortably afford one. It's worth it...

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
I just didn't see anyone asking for help on how to fix their ProVari and asking what they were doing wrong. (I'm sure someone has done but it wasn't rampant like so many other mods) I also saw a lot of happy ProVari owners.

It's a very reliable mod and you get the same vape from the beginning of the battery to the end. There is no loss like in others.

That said, it DOES cost a bit and not everyone is going to want one. People who love mechanicals don't necessarily need a basic VV unit like ProVari.

Along these lines, and not mentioned yet in this thread (Although I am certain it's been mentioned in many others, by me!) is that even IF your ProVari does end up broken, ProVape can and WILL FIX it! In or out of warranty... And their repair prices are extremely reasonable. The initial investment is a bit steep, sure, but the fact that you can have it repaired by the manufacturer at a reasonable cost for nearly any portion of the mod that may break in the future is something that you really can't say about any other mass produced mod on the market.

ProVape is an excellent company!

Oh, and speaking of mechanicals...

The ProVari is one of a very few voltage regulated mods that outputs a true and absolutely stable voltage consistent with what you have set. With this in mind, it is as close to a mechanical is you will find as far as voltage output. IMO it performs a bit better than a mechanical in some respects because it will boost voltage to compensate for inherent voltage drop of the battery.

Remember, my opinion only... LoL, I can imagine the steam pouring from some mechanical lovers ears over that comment. It's as close as you can get without getting a true mechanical mod...

Please help me. I'd read the manual, but mine didn't come with any. :( When I hit the button thingy to change something, I keep seeing two dashed lines. Like half the menu is missing or not coming up or something. I can't get to the variable wattage, puff count, GPS and Wi-Fi settings. I assume it's user error as both my regular and Mini do the same thing.

Your assessment was absolutely correct. It is user error on your part.

My Standard & Mini puff counts, have GPS and WiFi, open my mail, change the channel on my cable box, start my car from inside the house before I leave in the morning, etc. If it has Vw I haven't found it, but I don't need it.

The dashed lines that you see on your Provari's LED display are cryptic Provarinati codes that can be de-crypted with your Provarinati secret decoder ring.

I had a Provari. I thought it was a real nice vape.

I thought the Provari was heavy and bulky, and I admit to trading it for a REO....but both are great mods.

To be honest, I really just don't like big battery mods, and I know I"m not alone in that. I never vape over about 4-4.2V using LR delivery devices, so I am one of those people who truly do not NEED a Provari. :)

I would never discourage anyone else from getting one though, as I said, the vape was very solid and it is an extremely well made device.
