I'm going to try single first because I assume it's easier. I was going to try using organic cotton ball for wicking. This okay you think?
That sounds perfect, Matt.
Do a single coil around a 2mm rod, with 8 wraps. That should put you around 1.8 ohms.
Also, the 2mm ID will be easier to wick than a smaller/tighter coil.
Make your wraps as close to each other as possible. Put it in your IGO and tighten it down. Be careful not to cut the wire legs when you tighten.
Check the resistance with your eVic. If the resistance is good, hit the fire button for a few quick pulses... the coil should begin to glow.
Hold the fire button a little longer until the whole coil glows, then let go of the fire button and squeeze the end of the coil so that it compresses it to where all of the wraps touch each other.
Hit the fire button again and see if it glows from the inside to the outside. Do NOT hit the fire button while touching the coil with tweezers or pliers. That will short your coil and cause it to burn
through... then you'll have to make a new one and start over.
Does all of that make
sense so far?
