I want to get a Joye Ego-T kit. Some sites I found don't say whether it's really the "Joye" brand or not. Does that matter? I also want to know what forum to look in for the best deals. There are so many forums here, I can't seem to find one place to find the most updated deals.

This kit is the best deal I've found do far. Anything wrong with it?

There are lots of Joye type clones out there , that are much cheaper and are just fine . But I think that you should just get an ego clone , and just use carto's . A lot of new users have problems with the tanks . Carto's and dripping in atty's just seems to work better . And as for the "C" and the "T" versions . The "C" costs twice as much as the "T" , check out Liberty Flights , they sell a cheaper EGO clone , and carto's as well . So does Hoosier supply .

The Ego at Liberty Flights is $50, and the Ego-T is $65, so the link I have is still cheaper.

I'm new to the forums and vaping as well, i purchased the exact kit you linked and it was a good upgrade from my v2 (first ecig) i haven't smoked since last monday and i'm completely content at this point... other than the fact that i'm a crack head when it comes to research and now have my sights set on the not so affordable provari, damn it looks sweet!

I've used egos for about a year now. I really don't know what make they are, but probably clones. I do use the tank system that came with them - I don't get leaks now I've learned to connect them properly. I also use the clear tank/cartomiser thingies gotVapes sells, and am very happy with both systems.

I don't use cartos with filling as my lungs don't like the filling on most. But that's just me!

P.S. I smoked for 40+ years, and was up to more than 2 packs a day at the end.

The issues people have seem to do with leaking. I used to have leaks, but not since I learned to attach the tanks properly. I'm not a fiddler either.

If you forget about the tank/atomiser system, and get some well rated cartomisers to use instead, you should have no issues.

Also, I have 4 batteries I rotate through, and haven't had any of them fail yet. One I've had for over a year, one for about 9 months, and the other 2 are about 3 months old.

Then the mega dual coils are for you. Simple to use and work really well.

Absolutely this! Trouble free and

As to off brands, the only one I would avoid would be the T-Rex, due to the weak plastic LED (light) ring. Buddy had one break.

Also try to get a 3.7 volt model, such as the Riva.

There are so many places to buy from, and so many variations in the kits, I can't decide what to buy! There is the Ego, Ego-T, and Ego-C. Then there are the regular cartridges (which are all I ever used with my 510), cartomizers, drip-tip carts, dual-coil cartomizers, atomizers / low resistance atomizers, and at least 3 different sizes of batteries. Am I missing anything?

With my 510, I bought a cartomizer, but it wasn't made to be refilled. The ones I see for the Ego seem to be made for refills. Also, you guys are telling me they are more reliable than using a cart+atomizer combo.

I'm just confused when it comes down to it. There are so many options, kits, vendors, and opinions. At this point I'm thinking I need an Ego kit (not Ego-T/C) with dual-coil cartomizers, and then add a few drip-tip cartridges. Then, if I need more power I could get an LR atty. I still don't know for sure. I was about to pull the trigger on a kit yesterday, but this forum made me change my mind. Someone help me please!

You aren't missing anything. It's a bit confusing at first. What I did, and would suggest most newcomers do, is to get the Liberty Flights Riva 510 kit, 900mah, (don't forget to click the 20% off link on the upper left hand side before you even start shopping), and then you'll have two atomizers and carts. I would also suggest getting some Boge 2.0 ohm cartos with that. Liberty Flight has those also, and you won't be paying another vendor separate shipping which can be up to 5.95 frequently. BTW. the Riva 510 kit has two true 3.7 volt batteries, whereas the eGo has circuitry in it which regulates it down to 3.4 volts. Hope that clears up some confusion, because it really is better to have the 3.7 volts if you want a lot of vapor.

As for juice, I suggest you go to General E-Liquid Discussion and look at the threads for the best tobacco flavor. There are a lot to choose from, and different people swear by different juices.

There's some "fiddling" to be done with all of it unless you opt for the way less economical disposable stuff. The wife and I can vape ourselves silly on less than a dollar per day with out eGO-Ts. If you can tolerate 15 minutes per day of "fiddling," it's a great system you can operate leak/problem free. If you don't or don't foresee you'll be chain-vaping, the eGO-C is even more economical.

The deal you posted is good to run with and is also offered by Victoria

Oh, that's often the trouble, we do confuse newbies!

Bottom line: Buy the riva and cartos that dekalbave lists. IMHO.

Start there. I'm sure you'll be very happy.

Later on, you may feel like trying something else, and you can post questions here again. You can adjust the vape in many ways by using different things that fit right on the Riva. Meanwhile, you will be vaping happily away.

I like cartos also but the stock tanks are my favorite....I do the carto thingie for the wife because I get somewhat irritated with refilling tanks for her every time I get involved with something else....replacing cartos is the limit of her PV technical ability and I know better than to try and get her to push the envelope. Here's all the fiddling you have to do with a carto other than occasionally topping them off:
