My groove V2 just broke after like 4 months. I'm smoking cigarettes again because I don't have a back up mod. I'll probably get an ego twist from 7-11 tomorrow until my new mod arrives once I pick one. Remind me never to buy a smoktech mod again.

I checked around since I haven't been keeping up with mods and found the Hana modz 30W on fasttech might be perfect. If I'm seeing this correct, it's regulated/protected 30W AND has a built in charger for an 18650 and I can replace just the 18650 when it doesn't hold a charge in like 9 months? And there's a 2*600mAh fixed battery version that once the batteries don't hold a charge, I can still replace them if I find the correct ones and know how to wire it?

I usually just vape 1.5ohms at 4V, but wanted to sub ohm, high wattage, and dual/quad coil vape for a while but my mechanical mod got redirected to fasttech in the mail for having batteries in the package, so I've just been using a smoktech groove and waiting for the regulated/protected high watt mods to come out. I didn't like the 20W or 30W regulated seigeli mods that you have to tilt to change volts/watts. I guess the hana's perfect, or should I get the chana or what? I'm confused because I check youtube and there's all types of 'do not buy hana mod 30W' and hana vs clone, and the clone one might actually be better except that it overheats more often, etc.

I was planning to just get the clone from fasttech for like $55 with the included 18650 instead of the fixed 2*600mAh batteries. this one (not the 20W for $5 less):
$56.00 HANA MODZ Pack DNA 30 Style Mod - 1*18650 / 7W-30W at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Should I not buy the linked mod because there's something better? I read FT reviews about quite a bit dying after just a few weeks, but I'd rather chance that and hope for a warranty/refund instead of spending like 5X more for a genuine one, plus I might not vape it really hot and get the overheating warning on the clone either.

thanks.

Lots of rolling of the dice with the FT models.
Some fellas are lucky, some aint.

The current generation of cloupor models seem to be much more consistent. They will run you a little more but you are likely to get a better product and not have to wait forever and a day to get it.

Better yet are the Pioneer4You IPV series. They cost a little more yet (circa 90 to 110usd) and currently are available in 35w and 50w form with a 100w dual 18650 version coming by the end of the month. The board they use is actually more advanced than the DNA types (even the real ones) and offers a wider array of regulated voltage and wider range of resistance ratings it can fire. It also comes with a full year warranty.

I will say I prefer the form factor of the Hana box much more than the IPV. The billet aluminium of the Hana type box just feels much more solid and the IPV looses a couple points for having its USB charging port on the bottom. However when it comes to what is under the hood the IPV easily beats the Hana clones and arguably the authentics.

All in all if you are willing to spend more you can get A LOT more.

Adding to MrPlinks comments. The Cloupor feels better in hand than the IPV2 but the IPV2 carries better in the pocket because it's thinner. I personnaly like the charging port on the botton. When I vape with it plugged in the cord doesn't get in the way like the Clouper does. I own both and one thing I've noticed is the battery life is much better on the IVP2 (I run Sony VTC5's in both.) Another thing I really like better about the IVP2 is when I hit the button it's instantly on making full power where the Clouper seems to want to warm up to it and then has about a 1/2 sec run on after the button is released. The touch sensor botton is used on occasion but basicly more in the way, unnecessary and IMO it would be a better unit without it.

When it comes to sub-ohm dripping there is no comparison, the IPV2 is the clear winner in this Dept. A .3ohm build @ 43W (on screen) makes for a tasty vape with a cloud that's very satisfying for me. I personnaly wasn't impressed dripping with the Clouper.

I like both units but think the IVP2 is the solid winner of the two.

One other thing I forgot to mention in case you decide on the FT Hana clone.

I have never tried the Fasttech's Hana clone but have used used Fasttech's warranty on another product. I found them to be very easy to work with on the warranty. They had me ship the item to a Florida address and a replacement came from China. It took about 3-3 1/2 weeks to arrive. Not great but no hassles either.

Go with the Fasttech model , i have two friends who got the latest version V3 and they are awesome , the Cloupors are far more unpredictable imo and and cost more but your definitely not getting more .

Fasttechs warranty is far superior as well , 6 months compared to maybe a few weeks and even after 6 months Fasttech will get it repaired for you for a minimal cost if you do break it .

Most of the bad press on the FT versions are from the earlier models . If you do order from Fasttech go with the USPS option as you will get it much faster and at no additional cost.

If you order a DNA30 from Fasttech, you will have no choose on shipping. It will go thru Singapore which is slower because it has a battery in it. That is for the 18650 version which has an Efest 2500 35A included. That said, I got my DNA30 in 12 days. I have both the Clouper and the FT versions. The Clouper feels a bit solider but it may just be the coating is different. The only other difference for me is the sleep delay on the FT version. Have to push the button twice a lot. Otherwise, they vape the same. Use them both everyday all day and am pleased with both of them. Have had the Clouper for a month and the FT for 2 weeks.

Today, they not shipping them out with batteries anymore though "Ships in 7 business days 7-10 day"
I can't find where it say's how long for delivery anymore it changed from yesterday.

OK I found it, I guess because they removed the battery it's now USPS First-Class FREE (8 to 12 days in transit typical) I presume they mean business days

Take a look at this 30 watt devise for same amount as FT.

    Dovpo E Mech Mod V3 sale 69.99 -20% off = $56.01 free shipping

    coupon code: save20

    much faster as well

FYI, I've ordered from there before and they're very good. But ... I submitted a question on this and these are the V1 version. I gather some reliability improvements have been made on the V2 (more accurate ohm readings among them).

Not sure that matters to people, but even at a steal like this, I just have a hard time pulling the trigger on a device that's already been updated and improved.

wider performance envelope =/= more advanced, necessarily.

I got mine 2 days ago. At first I thought it was version one also. Because base is still not very wide, it will stand on it's own with topper, although it would fall over very easily. Buzzer when button is pressed and alarm clock is removed. Logo is still on and the wattage setting appear to be correct, not as hot as first run. All in all in am very happy with it for the price. ($56.00) shipped. I am on a low budget as I am on disability. Will see how long it will last.

Anybody know what's going on with FT today they have the DNA 30 for $49.00 SHIPS IN 7 DAYS AND $56.00 ALSO?

Until last week they only offered the 18650 clones with batteries which limited shipping to one option causing delays in delivery. I also read somewhere they had several returned to them from Singapore Post due to the included battery. Then they started offering them without batteries so customers could choose faster shipping options but they didn't change the price on those at the time.

Looks like now they are getting around to lowering the price to $49 to compensate the ones that don't include batteries. The $56.00 clones still come with a 18650 and others have a built-in Li-Po Batteries so the price didn't change on those.

Ordered mine 8/2/2014, delivered today 8/19/2014. Shipping via Singapore Post.
Was expecting a 3 to 4 week wait but extremely happy it only took 2 1/2 weeks.:)

Ordered yesterday and FT shipped it and gave me the tracking # today.

For $ 1.22 I ordered a few 510 adaptors to use with it, just to avoid any issues with the 510 connector.
