For those new to cartos, there is a reservoir built into the battery end of the carto (there's a picture somewhere on this site). I try to add only enough liquid to fill this reservoir (about 3/8s of an inch). This tends to produce better vapor for me since I don't tend to flood the nichrome element with juice. I do use the taryn spin. The specs on prefilled cartos from the Chinese factories shows that cartos contain .8 ml of liquid. When I first started refilling cartos with the taryn spin I would put about ml and a half in each carto but I found that the best vaping occurred after I used the carto for a while. For the OP, some cartos have the condom with the plug for the battery end and some like my V4L cartos just have the condom. on those I stick a piece of tissue in the condom to absorb any liquid that spins out.

Too much juice in a carto is just as bad as not enough juice. I fill with a syringe for the first time, then I just top off from my drip-tip bottle. As Leaford likes to say, a carto is a system. It was designed to work at its best with a manufacturer specified amount of juice. Too much liquid ruins that balance, obstructs proper airflow through the carto, diminishes oxygen delivery to the coil, and may cause burning.

And V4L cartos usually come with a tiny pug for the threaded end hole too - .

Some of mine did come with the separate plug that I removed after removing the condom. Some didn't and the air hole in the ones that did not are too small to use the other plug and all my V4ls have holes too small to use the plugs from my cartos from Miststixs.
