DO NOT over tighten

That's what it says in the owners manual of the nautilus Mini I just received in the mail.

It'd be nice if Aspire read their own instructions. This thing is like super glued together! I've tried hot water, the freezer, and running my fingernail along the seal at the bottom. The only thing moving is the airflow dial.

Anyone have advice on opening this thing that isn't going to get me into trouble if I have to return it?

The glass is actually pretty strong. I had mine and at first thought it was going to break. Of course, it did not and since then has been only snugged together when I fill it. hold entire glass portion in hand and then use just you index finger and thumb on the airflow portion of the tank.

Thanks everyone. My son came home with his toolbox and managed to get it apart with something similar to what twgbonehead suggested. I put it back together just tight enough to feel slight resistance in either direction. There's a good sized gap between the bottom of the glass and the top of the base but as long as it doesn't leak I don't care. Will be cleaning it tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Did you see the post above saying to put a drop of juice on the seal before you tightened it? It acts as a lubricant and it's much easier to tighten and loosen after.

Yes. Thank you. It's not on tightly, now. Just tight enough to keep everything together until I get to cleaning it. Once it actually goes into rotation it'll get "lubed".

I've been using a wide rubber band (6mm or so) with a pair of vice grip pliers, just to make sure I don't chew up the metal on the base of my nauty mini.

Also when I refill I am careful to only tighten a little bit, which I've found with the double o-ring at the base does not lead to any leaking. So far I've still needed pliers but doesn't take nearly the force. The vacuum created seems to be the biggest factor in how tight it is upon refill time.
