Do RBAs have throat hit at 0 nic?

I've had 2 packages detained by customs (nicotine is a controlled substance where I come from), and will probably have to vape 0 nic. Here's my problem: I don't think I'm addicted to nicotine, but more to throat hit. With my own diy 0 nic, I get absolutely no throat hit. I know that throat hit comes from the nic. But I've also read that with RBAs it's possible to get throat hit.
I haven't attempted my own rewicking and may be forced down the rba route. I just want something simple, like a ce5, lol. I've found them easy to use and maintain. I'm perfectly happy with ce5, but may need to go rba to achieve throat hit.
BTW, what are RBAs? My mind is in a mess just reading up on all the gadgets available.
1) Do RBAs really provide throat hit at 0nic?
2) if yes, please provide some recommendations for a simpleton like me.
3) if no, any tips to get throat hit at 0nic?

I've already ordered diablo loco from liberty flights to try. Probably not going to get throat hit from that, but I'm willing to try anything. I may even put a couple of chili seeds in my pg to try. Is it safe?

By no means an expert but when I drop the nic level in my diy I feel it has less throat hit. I don't think a rba will make much difference. One option to consider along with a cautionary note is the use of cinnamon oil such as produced by LorAnns Flavors. It definitely adds throat hit and I use it on occasion in my diy. Here's the caution, many people here are wary of the safety in using this for vaping. It can also crack plastic carto tanks. Please read up here and elsewhere before indulging to reach your own conclusion.

once you get to 0 nic, your throat and lungs will lose resistance to throat hit. vaping 0 nic at higher voltage tends to give very very mild throat hit, and hit to lungs on light inhale. i hear RBA'S can give a good blast. curious to hear how you make out.

On a fresh wick and coil I throw some unflavored 80%vg 20%pg 0nic in my IGO-L just to make sure there's no weird flavors imparting before I start running normal juice through it. Lets just say that "Hitting like a dumptruck" is an understatement. These RBAs, even the Genesis ones will kick you in the face with enough power and a proper setup.

0 nic = 0 throat hit. If you asked 100 veteran vapers, I believe 99 out of a 100 would agree. I think you can get throat irritation from additives, etc but not the throat hit provided by nicotine.

you cannot "create" a throat hit with 0mg nicotine...
on a RBA with 0mg nicotine, you can rotate the air hole to the complete opposite position of the wick and take a drag.
it will not give you a throat hit, but it will make you want to cough

Menthol might do the trick for you, the cooling sensation gives a TH type effect. I add it to liquids that don't give me much of a TH.

Combined with certain juices, turning the airhole helps to achieve a Th type of hit. Some juices are heavier in body and flavor.
You can't achieve this with a joye 510 atty or a carto, but you can with the RBA. Experiment with Clove, Cinnamon, even a touch of vodka, or try the pepper trick... DIY stores have TH additive ... combined with the air hole off the wick, you certainly can call it a TH.

Just to share. I've just tried diablo loco from Liberty Flights, and quite disappoined. It's NOT throat hit. It's more like throat burn. I've actually managed to achieve the same effect by steeping chilli seeds in PG. My brain tells me that "No, it's not possible to get throat hit without nic." But my heart wishes otherwise. If it's possible to get throat hit on 0 nic, I'm sure the veterans would have found it a long time ago. I doubt RBA's will give a real throat hit. More like what Uma said, "a Th type of hit".

With real throat hit, the vapour feels more substantial. I mean you get the feeling that you're really getting smoke into your lungs. The vapour feels "heavier". With diablo loco or chilli seeds, its just like inhaling air, chilli flavoured air. I guess I will just have to live with it and try to adapt.

im not an expert obviously but an educated guess would tell me if you got some fire n ice mixture of menthol and cinnamon you would still get a throat hit even at 0 nic. if that doesnt work though nothing is going to do it.

That might provide throat burn/irritation but not real throat hit from nicotine.

Nope. I believe it's never going to achieve Th. Lots of people say menthol will give a semblance of Th, but in my limited experience, it actually lowers Th. What I get from menthol is just the cooling effect, no matter how strong the menthol is. Just like cigarettes, why do females (no offense meant) prefer menthols? I believe because it "softens" the Th.

I'll probably try some cinnamon, but I doubt it's going to amount to much.

I love my throat hit. So much so, that even if I smoke a cigar, I'll still inhale, just to get the glorious feeling of throat hit.

As most others said, Nic is the primary cause for TH so w/o it there's little you can do, RBAs or not...

That said, you may just try combining the following:

- use RBA's like A7, IGO, Phoenix, Eternity, Chalice, RDA, and so forth [dripping attys, though]: they give you finer control on vapor quality production (the airhole trick many have mentioned)
- raise your voltage as much as practical
- add some more PG % to your liquid
- try using 'powerful' flavours

Anyway in my experience TH is just a matter of habit... I've eventually reached 0 nic, and don't care much about TH anymore - I'm just using higher voltages than I used to so the vapor is warmer, fuller and more satisfying. Even w/o nicotine.
