Do regulated mods protect our batteries and keep us safe?

What possible guarantee do we have...

    (snip)

At least with a mech mod you get the advantage of not being capable to leave the mod charging over USB overnight having it turn itself into a nice fireball while you are sleeping next to it on the couch. (I apologize for my doing it on purpose. :D)

Guarantees? None. That why I mentioned that the protection electronics need to work to...umm...work.

With mechs you however get the advantage of your charger turning itself, and perhaps several cells, into a nice fireball while you are sleeping next to it on the couch. This is not an unheard of event. And there are some very real safety issues with mechs, just as there are with regulated devices.

Neither regulated or unregulated mods are inherently better or safer. It depends entirely on the individual device(s), their design and condition, and how it/they are used.

Yet, despite this, I can still see a lot of people trusting the protection electronics thinking they [these protection electronics] are safe enough that the person who uses the device in question factually should not have to experience the need to start caring about general rules of battery safety even though they obviously should care, but to them it's not so obvious the fact this should be obvious, particularly when it comes to understanding the need to educating theirself properly, as well as to passing on correct knowledge to others. Worse, I can still see a lot of people who dispute this being a real problem, even, and BTW not all of them are salesmen or marketing specialists. The whole 'protection' buzzword stuck. And it is causing people to fail to protect their own self responsibly. The perpetuated misinformation that surrounds regulated mod general safety is.

Yes, but by definition alone, external charger issues are issues that are external to mech mods. Only the human factor links the two together, technically speaking, and, with mechs you get the advantage of not having to deal with the vagueries of some Chinese chipmaker so, about that human factor and how it relates directly to human safety knowledge, I personally believe that, for me, simple electromechanics subjects about mech mods are far easier to understand and work with when it comes to dealing with battery safety use.

I know. Now, the only real challenge is to try and convince people that this is so─and believe me I have tried.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm a tootle puffer, but I just buy and use what the cloud chasers are using. Sure I probably pay a few bucks more than I need to, but I don't really want to sit there and shop for batteries...just buy high amp batteries and be done with it.

I'm neither a tootle puffer nor a cloud chaser because, instead, I consider myself a flavor chaser who is thoroughly convinced that you can't separate the temperature, the density, or the texture of the vape from the flavor of it, just like you can't study a river by taking out a bucket of water and staring at it on the shore. That's one part of the reason why I vape single battery mechs at wattages high enough that I can't recommend to anyone to do the same because that would be smack down the middle of the so-called danger zone, as right now I'm vaping a .08 ohms dual coil build on a single Samsung 30T. These are quad core 26g/36g Nichrome 80 aliens at 3mm inner diameter in the Asgard Mini with the separatey sold ultem cap on it to help tame the hotness of the vape. Also in addition using a very high level of airflow optimization that results from air hole adjustment in cohort with coil positioning, in cohort with controlling the strength of my draw.

Just more support for my "no safe spaces" approach. Like, just from the moment we are born, we are put here to die.... sometime. It seems a regulated mod is not exempt but thanks for the detailed information, Mooch.

I mean, you do the best you can, but I'd rather have a safety explanation with my mod than tissues and plush toys. Call me crazy if you must.
