Do Tell Me About A Bottom Feeder Please

Bottom feeders differ from the usual PV in that they have a small, usually vinyl plastic, bottle below the atty/carto and in contact with the atty/carto via some sort of feed device. The feed device usually is a tube extending nearly to the bottom of the bottle and connecting with the atty/carto via the center hole usually with a large-bore needle.

Rather than use a syringe or drip down the sides from the top of the atty/carto, periodically you "squonk" (squeeze) the bottle to force e-liquid up into the atty/carto. Some have you rejuice the atty/carto by inverting the whole device while you squonk the bottle or push the feed button.

They're superior to tanks insofar as they (usually) don't leak, and you don't have to carefully watch the level. They're superior to attys/cartos insofar as you fill the bottle with several milliliters of e-liquid at a time and don't have to constantly top it off with more e-liquid.

Hope this helps!

The cartos and atty's do wear out. The best atty depends on which mod you end up going with! I'm on my first bottom feeder, but I picked one up from vapage.com (the VMOD) and I love it. It's at a really good price point, and I couldn't be happier with it. Of course I can't really compare it to other bottom feeder's, but I'm satisfied and won't be looking to purchase a different one or upgrade any time soon.

Bottom feeders are very easy to use once you get a grasp on the amount of squeeze it takes to the bottle to get the desired amount of liquid up to the atty, doesn't take long.

Cartos and attys will always wear out, using them on a bottom feeder doesn't effect the lifespan as long as your feeding enough juice and if you're not you'll realize that quick.

Most any atty will work with most mods, some are specific depending on how it feeds and the mod but for the most part any will work. The best would be your favorite.

I'm just venturing into the bottom feeder world and can attest to this. I have picked up a few different attys and have found some differences in all of them. For example, I have one I purchased specifically because it was advertised as a hybrid that worked well on bottom feeders. It does, but the draw on it is much too airy for my taste. I'm still in the experimental stage, but so far the stock Joye 510 is my favorite.

Old goat makes a 3.7v bottom feeder that isnt to bad, and hes on the forum. He might have a website as well. Jmarkus in the modder/accessories supplier forum has the army tank which is a vv bottom feeder (my favorite feeder out there) but its priced higher. Best quality on his though. Highly recommend the army tank if you have the money for it.

On my first bottom feeder (Phid), have various other vaping devices (pro-vape and other mid-sized mods) and am loving loving the bottom feeder. Took me less than 20 minutes to get the hang of how to invert and squeeze and ensure the right amount of juice is going into the atty. One thing that affects the squeezing is the pg/vg mix of the juice itself. The more vg the more difficult it is to get the juice into the atty and the more significant time you need to spend with the box upside-down. I am a dripper unless I am driving, but the significantly less hassle and less mess of the bottom feeder is making me real happy.

it's not very pretty

Beauty was sacrificed for simplicity, functionality and durability on Reos. They're electro-mechanical (no delicate electronic parts to fail), vape like champs, and you can probably drive a 70,000 pound semi over one and not have it fail.

About the least expensive bottom-feeders I've come across are old goat's. The basic 3.7 volt models run $40.00 bare, needing batteries, a charger and atty/carto. You add at least a couple of 14500 batteries (around $8.00 each -- you want a bunch of them for backups) plus a charger (about $10.00-15.00) plus an atty/carto (which you probably have sitting around). Then you're good to go.

Old goat's mods are even less aesthetically pleasing than Reo Minis, but they offer about the same functionality. They're a good entry-point to the world of bottom-feeders.

Strongly recommended!
