I have tried a manual batt before and seem to like it a little better. was wondering if they make them for the 901?

Eastmall.net has them for $13. They're in China, so they have higher shipping. Better to order other stuff as well. I don't know about any stateside suppliers.
looking for manual batteries for the 901 myself it's either that or build a mod (which I want to do anyway but not quite yet) there is the canadian supplier vapes mart for 15.99 canadian... vaporstix has them for 14.95 each... ok went halfway through the list getting tired of looking

I was going to say the same about Eastmall. They carry them in several different colors. Though they are in China, I have had very fast deliveries (4-7 days).
Yup... I believe that any of the KR808D-1 (VK, etc..) batteries will work on the 901. You may get a bit more airflow though....

not been a problem. using attys from TW and some unmarked ones.

have not tried cartomizers yet, and having too much fun with whisletip 901s and 801s to want to right now. maybe later.
