Hello everyone! I started vaping with a 901 back a couple of weeks ago. As I started having problems with automatic batteries I ordered a 510 kit and 2 901 manual batteries. Whenever my 901 cares to work the vapor I get is great. I´m worried about some of you said that for flavor the 901 attys are better and for more vapor a 510. None of you have used your 901 with manual batts before? Thanks!

I don't know about the 510, but I have heard from many users that say the 510 is a killer e-cig for vapor and throat hits. The 901 is a good e-cig and delivers the flavors of even a delicate flavor like pear, but as for vapor and throat hits..it's hit and miss. I love my 901's and will be trying a 901 manual very soon..well as soon as EastMall gets it here..lol!
I have a 901 manual passthru and really like it. So I am expecting more of the same. (good flavor and vapor)
I wouldn't worry about it. The 510 should be great with stonger flavors..use the 910 for the lighter flavors! It's win-win as far as I am concerned!:)

I had a 901 (before manual batteries), The cutoff was a real problem for me, especially when it started the cleaning cycle, Acckk! The taste was awful and the cartridges never did taste the same after that cleaning cycle. Constant refilling, flooding, leaking, cleaning carts after missing the start of the cleaning cycle, the list goes on....... Don't miss the hassle of them at all! I was elated when the Dura-C came out with manual batteries that were made for dripping. The throat hit and vapor are so much better, and no cleaning cycle, Ahhhh... Dripping tastes so much better than using the cartridges.

I can achieve the same experience as a 901 with the manual batteries of the 501. (Simply don't do the 1 second preheat. Just push the button and draw slow/smooth for 3 seconds. Release the button, and continue to draw for one second more.) There's your flavor, coolness and vapor of a 901.

But, I like, (CRAVE) and enjoy all the vapor/throat hit it makes using it to the full extent of it's ability and purpose. (Which is to drip 2/3 drops on the atty through the hole of the empty (filler and reservoir removed)cartridge with an oiler bottle. Press the manual button 1 second before the slow/steady draw to preheat the atty. Continue to draw for the full 5 seconds. Release the button and draw for 1 second to cool the atty. Best throat hit/vapor you will find in any of the tube types of PV's that are available today, (Of course this is my opinion.)

So....the manual battery of the 901 I guess will save you having to go through the Accckkk! of the cleaning cycle I guess. But...I would not go back to a 901 to just try them because they are not going to give me the experience I get with the Dura-C.

I dont understand why you would be worried that you are going to have both PV's? You are able to experience both and learn which you prefer. If you choose one over the other, you will just have a back up PV. Or you will have an extra to share with family or friends. And large percentage of us have experienced the hind sight thoughts too. Live and learn.:)

So what is the difference between a 501 and a manual battery which is better?

510 is a type of PV or (Personal Vaporizer instead of the obsolete name of E-cig). Other PV's...901,801,Screwdriver, etc...... Manual battery has a button on the side. It is to give you more control with your vapor/throat hit. Also with the Dura-C, 510, Titan, Yeti, Versus with a manual battery, they have a sealed battery for dripping, (if you wish to do so) or cartridges. Basically it gives you a choice. The auto battery is only for cartridges, can foul (or die) if you drip, and it has a cut off (it stops you from drawing when IT want's to.) The manual will let you draw up to a full 5 seconds with NO cut off.

Not confusing. Just something you need to know. We are all different, you decide which is best for you! Choice is good!

The 901 manuals last significantly longer - the cutoff isn't a problem because all you have to do is lift off the switch before the cut-off and press it again immediately. Comparing the 510 vs 901 I'd go with the 901 manual unless you get a PCC with the 510. They last almost twice as long than the 510 batts for me.

Yes..but with the Dura-C, 510, Titan, Yeti, Versus you can still experience the 901 (all in the technique of how you use it.) So to be honest...Yes the battery life is shorter with the D,5,T,Y,V.
Of course there is a new extended life battery for them too!

So..., again to be honest, If a beginner was to purchase any one of the following D,S,T,Y,V kits that have the regular manual batteries (not the new extended life ones.) Along with a PCC (for battery charging) it would still be cheaper than purchasing both the different PV's (501 +901) to try. Right?
