Do Vapers ever lose the smokers cough?

I quit a month ago today (yeah!!) and my smokers cough is gone as well. I also haven't had any coughing attacks!! Its incredible to not have to worry if I have any cough suppressant at work anymore, it was as if I always had a touch of bronchitis - quite repulsive but that is what happens when you smoke for 25 years...quit the analogs and don't look back!

Mine had completely disappeared. I was vaping 0 nic juice. However now I switch up with nic juice and when I do, the cough comes back, phlegm and all especially when I wake up. I think I'm just strange.

0 nic juice, no cough. Nic juice cough and phlegm. I guess the nic juice is a no no for me... after what I have is gone.

I took an industrial health and safety course in college and the instructor said that there are little hairs in the throat that act like a conveyor system. When you cough the hair catch the stuff so it doesn't fall back into your chest. The heat from the cigarette smoke singes the hairs so you have to cough it up fully to get rid of it. Luckily when you quit the hairs grow back. A bit of semi-gross but interesting and useful information.

I smoked for 13 years. My cough was starting to get really annoying. Luckily it went away about a week and a half after I quit.

My persistent cough went away within 1 week upon the switch to vaping. I still have a bit of phlegm cough left over, especially when I vape the heavier 26mg nic e-juices for several hours on end without much daily exercise.
The phlegm cough is a 1 time throat clearing type, not a multiple deep hack like the persistent cough was. Even this cough is less frequent with each passing day.

I also still have a touch of asthma induced by smoking and have to use an inhaler a few times a day. This could be alleviated/reduced if I just exercised more, as I didn't need it much when I smoked AND exercised. I DO have to keep it handy on my nightstand, though since I wake up frequently to cough or change sides. I've got sleep apnea as well.

I'm happy that the lungs start to clean up after only a week or two and after smoking for nearly 40 years. I remember some years ago seeing some lungs at a museum comparing those that smoked and those that didn't. The smoking lungs looked like a 10 hour smoked brisket, while the non smoking lungs looked like well, brand new. I was told that when you quit smoking, your lungs start to go back to their original pink color within a month.

If we'd only had these little saviors back in the day, think of all the lives saved. It's mind boggling.

I've got insomnia tonite so I Googled some info on how our lungs start to heal after quitting the analogs. Found some good info here: WhyQuit - Nicotine Withdrawal and Recovery Symptoms

Basically, our lungs do try to clear themselves out. I also came across this in another forum: "Between one month and nine months, the cilia in your lungs will regenerate, allowing your body to clean your lungs and reduce infection." How long your lungs take to clean themselves after you quit smoking? | Stop Smoking Blog

After being smoke free for over a month now (YEAH!), I have coughed up more crud this past week than I had been. I also am taking a herbal formula designed to help clear your lungs and promote tissue repair. This could be helping the crud loosen up, plus those cilia are finally able to do their job! Even still, my energy is up and my lungs are easily taking in much more air - I love being able to take nice big breaths now without triggering a coughing attack! Its the little things...
