I've heard that nicotine can relax the little "valve" that closes off your stomach. This would allow stomach acid to escape and cause heartburn.

I notice this too with vaping, but I also noticed it with cigarettes as well. Dipping was the worst, I would usually get horrible heart burn, which would cause my mouth to water, and require me to spit even more. I'm fairly certain it's just a side effect of nicotine (although a less common one) not of vaping, specifically.

I get heartburn so often, and I've also had it once from vaping. It wasn't full blown heartburn, but I did notice it shortly after vaping and realized that the only thing that could have done it was vaping. It hasn't happened since, and I think I might have gotten a tiny bit of juice on my lips when that happened.

Having quit using Chantix a few years ago, I had constant heartburn for at least 2 months AFTER my last cigarette. I noticed now that I have been vaping solely again for a month(?..LOL I'd have to check my signature)..I have the heartburn and the sinus/sore throat...both of which I experienced with fair severity after I quit smoking using Chantix (which I obviously fell off that wagon six months later).

I honestly don't think it's the vaping as much as (for me) it's the lack of traditional cigarettes.

I started getting heartburn and some nausea after about a month of vaping even though I was vaping the same amount of juice. I cut my nicotine down from 18 mg. to 12 mg. and it stopped. After another month the heartburn/nausea started again and I cut down to 8 mg. and 6 mg. juices. So far, no more heartburn but if it starts again I'll cut the nicotine down again.

You might want to try vaping lower nicotine levels at night if that is the only time you are having heartburn. Also, a lot of people use lower nicotine juice in the evening because they find higher levels cause insomnia.

I have been vaping for a month yesterday and I noticed most of the not so great side effects from switching which mostly only occurred for the first week or so. I have had a stogie here and there when I was out of juice for a couple of days, other than that I have noticed the heartburn I used to have has completely subsided. I haven't noticed it in like 2 weeks. I feel great, it's so nice to be a part of a community that is not only cool to be a member but I can be proud of. I was never proud of being a smoker so many people judge you once they find out but vaping is such a different reaction.
