Do you have a fire proof bag to charge batteries?

I charge batteries right in the mod, but, I have lately considered that this may lead to a fire hazard. What is your take?
I don't have one, I just keep a close eye on my batteries while charging. One of my old chargers did burn out and started melting, nearly caused a fire but I noticed in time. Keep a close eye on them, you can never be too safe.

Just me, but I charge my batteries in an area that is cool with decent airflow to the charger. The charger is on a ceramic plate and in the summer, I have a mini-fan to supply extra cooling. I have read that the cooler you can keep your batteries while charging, the longer they will last.

LiPo batteries should probably be put in a fireproof bag. These, not for vaping, I charge outside on a concrete slab with no chance of spreading a fire. Overcharging this type of battery can cause violent explosions. Want to see the results, just do a youtube search for lipo and fire.

Using charging bags is sort of controversial. They were designed to be used with LiPoly batteries, used for remote control devices. These batteries are attached by wire connectors to the charger, so the batteries themselves were put in the charging bag and the charger remained outside of the bag. Therefore, if the batteries exploded while they were being charged, the bag would contain the fire.

Now, whether to use them for Li-ion batteries or not? Chargers create some heat while charging batteries (some more than others). Some people argue that by placing the charger in a bag, you are creating a heat source within the unventilated bag which is not a benefitual thing for the batteries.

Personally, I charge my batteries on a flame resistant surface:

  • stove top
  • marble countertop
  • metal baking pan
  • pyrex glass dish
