So, vaping for a little under a month now.. I realize I am going to have to discipline myself to an allowance.. I realize just starting off there are certain expenses involved with acquiring the actual devices/batteries etc..
I have spent $429. so far in the last 28 days... and I am ordering more stuff today.

Do you have a set allowance? How much do you spend?

After the initial few months of trying new hardware and buying DIY supplies, I allocate $100/month to vaping supplies. I often don't spend all of that, even though I'm slowly stocking up on nicotine and cartomizers. What I don't spend on that rolls over to the next month.

Now that I'm all set with my hardware (Provari with boge cartomizers in a tank) my needs are pretty constant. About every other month I make a bulk purchase of 50 boge cartomizers for about $40-$60 (depending on sales). In alternate months I buy an order of 250-500 ml of 100mg/ml nicotine (~$30-$60 depending on volume and sales). As needed I purchase a new battery or two, flavorings and VG PG.

Right now, I've got $172 in my 'vaping account', so I know I haven't been spending as much as $100/month.

Eta: I also consider this a sort of 'mad money' account. Often if find that I'm saving enough to buy something non-vaping related. A few months ago I bought a roku device with the money I'd saved up in this account, so it doesn't all go toward vaping supplies. I also feel the need to point out that I was spending more on cigarettes than $100/month, so overall I'm still saving money. At $5/pack, 1.5 packs/day, 7 days/week, and 4 weeks/month- I calculate I was spending about $200/month on cigarettes.

Not really. My running cost is about $60 - $75/month, all in, which is about 1/4 what smoking would run, and that actually includes $ towards new HW, though what I have now absolutely satisfies me. I'll go several months not picking up anything, then get some new cartos, or flavorings for DIY, or...

I have said many times that I/we as a community can not put a dollar figure on the value of this life altering device. Obviously that is my opnion. After smoking 2+ PAD for 17+ yrs, having 4 kids 12 and younger, being 36 yrs old, and going thru all the motions that we all have with the BP jokes of quitting aids, patches, etc. Its easy for me to take this position, when today is day 101 since I got my first starter kit and had my last death stick. I am one of the lucky ones who was able to just switch overnight and experience virtually no side effects or withdrawls. Chain vaping 24mg for 2 weeks. Any way to get to your question, I do not have a set allowance. However being a finish carpenter, once I discovered all these REOs and the like, I have quickly found myself getting to the point where I am saying to myself enough is enough. Ideally my goals are to follow in the footsteps of some vets examples I have read where they have fine tuned their monthly process to between $10 and $20 per month. This includes, for example, DIY juice and rebuildable attys.
I refuse to add up the invoices up to this point. However I have reached the point where I will not buy and more APVs without selling one first of shortly there after. Now that I have dialed in what works for me, and I am 100% a nonsmoker(YESSS!), its time to start working to getting the monthly costs down to what I mentioned above.
Excuse the long winded response, but I felt it was pertinent to thid thread. At least it makes me feel better about spending a fortune. Also it still is a hell of a lot cheaper than chemotherapy, or not seeing my kids grow up. $^%# BT, BP, and anyone who wants to take this wonderful product away from us!
Vape on!

No Budget here but its a good idea for certain.

Im only 3.5 months ish into this and have spent somewhere around $ 1,000. I could have easily spent twice that trying to find my own personal vaping nirvana which Im still in search of. I can see this being around $ 75.00 - 100 per month just for juice and the occassional battery replacement / new toy once all this initial research dust settles. Less if you DIY

In the beggining I thinks its a matter of self control and pacing yourself so you can enjoy the upgrades step by step.

I agree with Kwalka wholeheartedly in that one cant really put a price on what this has done for so many of us. I too was one of the lucky ones who's last drag on an analog was the one right before I took my first drag on an ecig. Havent touched an analog since. My wife & 3 daughters ages 15 and under are behind it all the way and already see and appreciate the difference. Daddy doesnt smell like smoke anymore mommy ! followed by huge hug.... priceless

I'm in the Construction bizz as well ,( finish carpentry actually.... go figure Kwalka ! ) and I'm eyeballing some cool wood mod boxes as we speak.

Im actually proud of myself cause I could have easily purchased a couple cool Reos, Provari, Darwin , and / or several of the other high end mods. I'm choosing to get a full understanding of my various 510's, Ego's and Lavatube capabilities and limitations before going there. This way ( he says as he draws on his Ego VV / stardust / Highbrow- Hazlenut coffee juice setup ) I'll have a better appreciation for the high end performance of the aforementioned goodies.

I havent gone into DIY yet but im sure thats a big savings. I'd like to, but I"m self employed and I know myself. The research and time spent learning THAT little gem of a curve will cost me 1000 times what I save just in time spent away from business sales while screwing around with learning how to mix juice and setting up the perfect mixing area in my home office.

ADD TO CART.... LOL

I've never really set limits for myself. I know the cost is much lower for vaping than smoking so I keep that in the back of my mind. But rough estimate about $10-15 a week. Better than $10-20 a day for analogs.

Baw, where would the fun be in that? No really, I have technically spent a small fortune on my vaping devices and gear. However, my health has improved so much that $$$$ is no longer even a concern for me. I have found my vaping bliss and have stocked up on my favorite supplies so I haven't spent anything in a few months. Nor do I NEED to buy anything for a year or more. I'm happy with where I'm at on my vaping journey. Now I just have to pay off my maxed out visa :)

When I first started, I found myself spending a lot more money on juice than I would like. (I'm lucky enough to have a good brick-and-mortar vape shop nearby.) So I started DIY, and now I only spend about $20/month on supplies to make juice and another $15 or so on new cartomizers.

I other words, the cost of about 5 days of smoking cigarettes.

I feel like there isn't a price you can put on putting down the death sticks. I find myself trying new juice vendors once or twice a month and always have my Goto juice on standby. I think that the $50 I spend on juice a month is way better than what it would cost me for a month of those smelly things!

In 6 months I spent around $1500 but that should slow way down once my Zenesis gets here tomorrow. I have a lot of catching up to do since I would have only spent around $230 on cigs in the same time frame. I have also sold off some stuff and made like $350 of it back. Its still a lot IMO and I DIY juice. I just spent till I found what I liked. Looking back its not the best way to have done it.
