Do you have good vaping days and bad ones?

I've been vaping since 3 Sep. I got home from school on Friday (I'm a teacher) and told my husband, "I have really enjoyed the e-cig today!" At the time I didn't think anything about it, but just now, I thought, "Wow, this is really good today." That tells me that every day isn't as good. Some days, it seems like I'm adding more liquid, more often, or the taste just isn't quite right. It doesn't bother me on bad days because I'm SO glad not to be smoking anymore, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I'm sure the good days will multiply as I get better at the process and become more comfortable with my 510. Just curious!

My 510 has been performing really well, as far as vaping goes. However, when the battery gets to half charge or less, it's not quite as enjoyable as when the battery is fresh.

Now that I have my 510 CHUCK, I don't have that problem. I think the longer battery life with the battery mods helps out a lot. And vaping at higher voltage (5 or 6 volts), seems much more enjoyable and satisfying. I find myself not chain vaping nearly as much. It will be hard to continue stealth vaping at work where I will have to use the regular 510 batteries.

If I understood you right....

Sure. This is actually my only "grudge" I have about e-cigs .... they are not (yet) consistent enough. I just finished the (weekly) atomizer cleaning ... and it took a while until I'm reasonably happy again....

I started vaping in June and for 2+weeks I'm now completely analog free:D:D:D. But sometimes .... I still want just to light one, quick and easy, no worry about dead battery, clogged atty, loose filling, wrong liquid etc. etc. Sigh.

But it STILL beats the alternative!:D

Just my $0.02

Could you briefly explain the 510 CHUCK (or point me in the direction of the thread that explains it)? Also, does vaping at a higher voltage kill the atty more quickly?

*I realize that I'm getting away from my own topic here. Sorry. Feel free to resond with answers to either! :D

The Chuck is a battery mod that is new on the market but has a very good rating on battery life and comes with the option of personalized graphics. Angus is referring to his Chuck that he received fitted with a 510 connector (it comes available for 510, 901, and 801).

Vaping at a higher voltage can kill an atty quicker but you have to understand the dynamics of vaping at a higher voltage. A higher voltage means that your atomizer will get to temperature quicker and vaporize your liquid faster then regularly so you'll spend less time with the battery actually engaged. Now, if you were to run it the same amount of time as you do at a lower voltage you could potentially go through atomizers faster. High voltage mods have a learning curve just as a regular e-cigarette does when you first receive it in the mail, once you get used to it you'll be happy you switched.

The Chuck, however, isn't necessarily a high voltage mod it can run at 3.7 volts or 6 volts, but it has been reported to perform as if it were at a higher voltage while running at 3.7 volts (it acts more like a 5 volt mod)

Hellen posted the link to the thread about the CHUCK. You can also see some at www.thagbuilt.com.

From everything I have read, the 510 works well at higher voltage. I know it has for me! The trick is to keep the atty wet at all times. Letting it dry out can kill it pretty quick. Also, you really need to drip at 6v, otherwise you're going to get some yucky cart taste.

There are a lot of great higher voltage mods out there, so you may want to look around. It's all about personal preference and findiing the one that fits your needs. I chose the CHUCK because of the customization, as well as being able to run it at 3.7 v or 6v with the change of a battery. Check out the reviews of the different battery mods in the review forum, and see which one tickles your fancy. :)

Chris, what do you do to clean your atty? I'm very concerned with atty maintenance right now as mine and my hubby's both seemed to "burn up" on the same day last week, the day before our order arrived with new ones. THey both still worked, but MY GOD, the taste was unbareable!!!
Not being a "pro vaper" and after reading 11387 ways to clean I ended up just throwing them into an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner for 5 min, rinse, another 5 min (steam distilled water), dry them good, drop some liquid and puff until they work just fine again.... I'm using my 3 801 attyssince July and they are still just fine....

My guess the bad taste is gunk buildup on the heating coil, a good cleaning should help A LOT.

Other ways to clean... search the forum, choose whatever you like (peroxide, alcohol, mouthwash, boiling them [no kiddin!] etc. etc.)

Good luck,

Chris
