Cig-a-like's worked for me for the transition between analog cigarettes and e-cigarettes but they weren't enough for me later on(not enough vapour). I used the ePuffer Magnum Snaps, back in the day with their REV-1 version and it was fine, now they have the revolutionary SNAP REV-3. Even though I do not vape on cig-a-likes anymore I had to do a review on them a while back and they blew me away. Kit only costs €39.99 for a 5 pack of carts, portable charging case, usb charger, wall charger and 2 battery's. If I was to make a transition again I would still go for the ePuffer magnum snaps!

Hope I could help!

vape on!

Hello, first post here. I've been lurking for a while and found the information on this site very useful so decided to join up.

I quit cigarettes with Greensmoke and continued with them for a long time. I knew there were newer and better setups, but everything looked so damn complicated with mahs and ohms and volts, etc. Eventually I got tired of always having to order new supplies online before running out so I decided to visit one of the many vape shops that I had seen popping up everywhere. I got a standard Ego-C kit and vaped with that for a couple of weeks, then went back and got an MVP and mini Nautilus which I still use occasionally. Now I'm playing around with Kayfuns.

The other day I took a few hits off my old Greensmoke device to see how it compared...it didn't.

I started with V2 and that got me started and worked to get me off analog. Just hang in until you find a flavor you like. Went from pre-filled carts to the EX re-fillable blanks and was very happy. V2 has some of the best rewards and discount programs going. I still use them today for shorter use and being able to carry many flavors with me. After 3 monthsI moved up to some larger 1100mah E-go batteries and Kangertech T3s tanks. 5 months and no cigs at all. I use to smoke 2-3 packs a day.
I would recommend V2 to anyone looking at Cig-A-Likes.

Greensmoke has very limited selection and higher cost..

The only thing I like about cig-a-likes, is with my first one, knew I had discovered a way where one didn't have to light up. And was able to find the ecf and discover what was vape possible.

If offered a vape off a cal, would probably smile laugh, and reach into me pocket and offer them a vape off me T6 with the flashi on top, or the T8 sporting the Russian, least I think that's what's currently riding the T8.

Although, have heard that there are some that find these c-a-l, 4 watt wonders, to be more than adequate to keep them from having to light up. But frak me, didn't just fall of the turnip truck, and it's been almost a decade since me last near death experience, so I kind of think it's one of those internet legends, similar to one pre-filled carto is a pack of smokes things:lol:. Just thinking, not likely, at least on the plane of reality I liveVape on. :D

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!!

my primary set up are ego and ego type batteries with iclear 16 clearomizers.
i still use cigalike set ups for discrete vaping and have found they are also an
inexpensive set for testing new juices.
when i quit smoking it was V2's that where my first e-cig. they are
kr808d1 type. male threaded battery, female threaded cartridge.
another popular choice is greensmoke. they are a kr808d2 type.
male threaded cartridge,female threaded battery.
blu i have heard good things about but i am unsure what kr type they are.
you can save a substantial amount of money by using generic versions
of these types. just gooble"kr808d1 or 2-ecig/battery/cartridge"
there are many choices at less cost than branded e-cigs.
you can choose prefilled or blank cartridges and juice of your
choice. prefilled and blanks are refillable. they can be reused 5-10 times
and, with cleaning perhaps more.there are also esmart and kanger t3
clearomizers available.
i have found the cigalike form factor to be discrete, sturdy and compact,
contrary to popular opinion you can obtain an adequate and satisfying vape
in situations that call for discretion and save money when testing new juice.

With batteries ... size matters. I don't like cig-a-likes for the same reason that I don't care for 14500 or 18350 battery mods. They simply do not fulfill MY needs.

Now by all means take the time to find the size of battery that fulfills YOUR needs, and don't worry about MY needs.

but cig-a-likes reminds me of a truck driver using a lead pencil for a tire knocker

The problem with cigalikes right now is it's too costly to try them out.

I'd buy a single refill cartridge to try out, and stick it on my mod, but alot of the cartridge refills you can buy
1- you can't buy a single, you can buy a pack of 5+
2- alot of them are not 510 then, and they don't sell the adapter to let you put it on your mod/ego/510 battery.

If you buy a disposable, most of that money is spent on the battery which you don't really need.

If the Cig-A-Likes would help someone get off the stinkies (My gramps springs to mind! :p) then sure - Go ahead!

For me, the testing I've done with various borrowed Cig-A-Likes, have not been a success. They reminded me to much of the thing I was trying to kick. It sounds odd, but for me a part of the idea behind not getting one was to change things in my routines, and a change of formfactor certainly has some of the credit.

I found enjoyment with the twist batteries and the first few tanks I found at the local mall, and didn't look back.

I first started with a Blu e-cig, but I made the mistake of not opting for a push button model. I successfully dropped analogs by using a Joyetech 510 for about a year, but after a while the battery life just couldn't cut it anymore.

I have nothing against cig-a-likes since they are usually the first step for people to drop smoking. I feel that many more would have greater success if they opted to start off with a simple ego setup.

Agreed on this. I tag-teamed with Blu and NJoy to kick the habit of analogs, then switched over to EVod when I wanted to experiment with flavor. If I could find a good e-cig now that allowed me to use my own flavor juice, I'd keep it charged up and use it as a "stealth puffer" when obnoxious "anti's" are around to cry foul if I puff.

A nice Blu setup wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.... hmm...

I might get slapped in the face for this, but I got a coupon for a free Vuse Solo cigalike in the mail (RJR) and tried it out. At first I hated it, but I grew to love it really quickly. Satisfying vape, small and convenient, and simple to use. But the cartridges are $6 for 2. Each cartridge is supposedly equivalent to 1 pack of cigs; which I did not feel was accurate. Nonetheless, I have a pack of cartridges for it as a backup still.

PS. I got the menthol flavor, I'm not sure how the regular tobacco flavor is.

Most peoples first vape is a cigalike (myself included). One quickly realizes though that they're expensive and vape like crap compared to what's available out there, and that vaping has so much more to offer than cigalikes.

Like others I'm thankful that those Blu disposables were there to get me off tobacco. That's as far as my love for them goes though.

After 4 weeks of vaping I was DIY'ing my own ejuice and building coils for the RDA that sits atop my mech mod. Now THAT'S what I call a yummy friggin' VAPE! :)

I like the form factor of cigalikes, mostly because I still like the idea of smoking analogs. I got into vaping for vaping, not quitting, but ended up being forced off analogs and now if I light one it makes me ill.

The other night I was testing out a coil on my Ruskie 91, vaping off the chimney while shooting drops of juice into the wick holes. It made me think, why the hell cant we have a performing cigalike that works like a dripper, rebuilds like a Kanger, and looks like a Vuse?

I will never go down that path again.
Cig-a-likes are very expensive, the initial investment is low (unless you're buying a $200 v2 kit) but the cartridges are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Each cartridge holds about ~.8-1ml, and at my local 711 two Vuse cartridges are ~$6. That's $45 per 15ml at least. I easily go through 2-4ml per day, so that's $6-12 a day.

Cig-a-likes cannot come close to the performance you'll get out of a mech mod, or even a regulated mod, yet their maintenance cost is exponentially higher. I recommend getting a cheap regulated mod or a mech clone for like $30-50 and a clearomizer to start off. It'll save you so much money in the long run. Trust me, I've wasted hundreds of $$$ on cig-a-likes, I regret it so much.
In fact, I went back to smoking because cig-a-likes just didn't cut it, and by then I had even higher nicotine tolerances so I was smoking a pack a day as opposed to a half pack when I first quit.
