Got to thinking the other night as I was shutting down and locking my PVs and wondered if others do the same or leave them as is. I remember when I got my first mech mods I even took the batteries out of them at night, just felt like the right thing to do. I still lock my mechs and yes, I still take the batteries out sometimes to remind myself that they need to go the charger first thing in the morning but I don't always power down my vv/vw units anymore and if the batteries are fairly fresh in my mechs I leave them be.

every once in a while, i replace all my batteries to their respective cases just for GPs. but i do lock my mechs when not in use. more often than not, i only use them as juice tasters, so there may be a long stretch when they're not used. too long not to take the simple extra precaution.

Do you leave batteries in those mechs even if they are going to sit for a long time?

i try to take them out before they're in there over a week without being used. that way i don't wind up forgetting if one was over used. but other than that really, i don't worry too much about it. though my locking mechanisms are in good shape still too. so there's that.

EDIT: emphasis on try. it's not set in stone.
