Do you prefer long or short SS tips for your carto-tank?

Hmmm. How to answer. For ME...I'm not a big fan of SS for drip tips. Yes, they look awesome, and I have a nice little collection. Why am I not a fan using them? Because somehow the stainless seems to conduct more heat from the carto shell. It's just not something I like very much. I far prefer annodized aluminum or delrin now. But it must be noted: I vape a menthol with a goodly bit of koolada in it. I don't like a really warm vape. I think the heat interferes with the flavor...and for me that isn't desirable.

I have all sorts of length tips, but for the carto tanks I tend to use mostly the standard size tip. When using a carto tank on my Bogger Box BF I use a shorty...primarily for aesthetics. It just looks nicer IMHO. And being a BF...the vape is cooled sufficiently between the squonking and the fluid in the tank.

I use the long stiletto tips (annodized aluminum) on my Smok e-pipe. For that it works well. The SS stiletto I have also does well with a pipe. Probably because I don't vape a pipe as hot and heavy as I do the box mods etc. Haven't really tried it with the regular APV because it's so tall.

Think I'm going to get a Super-T velocity. Looks about med. length. Thanks for your detailed response Fourthrok, I guess if I don't like it I can always pop on my acrylic ming. Only one way to find out ;).

Macmiddlebrooks -- the Super-T drip tips are fantastic in terms of looks and quality. Top-notch just like everything they offer. Not cheap, but worth it.

My problem with SS tips is the same as fourthrok noted -- heat. I like a hot vape, but lip-searing is going too far! I ordered a pack of insulators today that I saw on Fasttech: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1448605

Cheap enough that I won't cry if they don't work. Have some concerns about aesthetics, but I'll trade that for some decent heat insulation.

Mmmmm, do you mean attached to an atomizer? If so, I could see that being an issue. I'll be using this atop a carto/tank system FWIW. I'm just using a free-standing cart on my provari, paired a metal tip with it, and have not felt any uncomfortable amount of heat.

I'll add that I'm not a particular fan for stainless either, for simular reasons. I also don't like the feel of stainless on my lips or teeth. I do have a couple of very long stainless/anodized aluminum tips to cool the vapor of certain attys that occassionally are too warm to my liking.

The Long Skinny Drip Tip - Aluminum from My Freedom Smokes I use occassionally on my RBAs.

I use the Freudian Tip on my Vapage VMod for a cooler vape when its atty is too warm to my liking.

My preference in tip material runs from tru-stone to pyrex, which are comfortable on my lips and do not transfer heat. My favorite tips in this category are from Drip Tip Designz, Sagewood Glass, and Bull Box Mods.

While I like the looks of SS tips, I only use delrin. They SS tips get too hot on a cartotank for me, and (this includes all metal, glass, stone tips) I cringe at the thought of hitting a pot hole while vaping and busting all my teeth out...just say in, but yes aesthetically you can't beat a SS drip tip

My favorite carto tip is a bent 3" pipe stem from Walker Briar Works. The length and curve make it perfect for the couch. A short stainless tip is good for the office (work mods must fit in a pocket). I have ordered a brass mini me for a kayfun mini that I'd like to carry to work. It will be my first brass tip. I don't like the way metal feels and the idea of chipping a tooth does make me nervous but stainless is so "sanitary"... I haven't given up on pyrex.
