In response to the title of your thread, how would you fill your carto with the drip tip still in place? You can't just drop juice into the drip tip to fill a carto. You don't want any e-liquid to get into the center air hole, only where the filler material is. This is assuming you are using a cartomizer, and not a drip atomizer.

When I fill my cartos, I place a part of wooden tooth pick into the air hole to keep juice out. This eliminates me from having to blow the carto out when I'm finished filling. I then use the "drip and flip" technique. Saturate the filler with juice, then flip the carto like a thermometer. This acts like a centrifuge, forcing the juice to the bottom of the carto where the heating coil is. After several flips, I add more juice, and flip it again. I continue these two step until the carto will take no more juice, and looks like a wet slushy drink.

Remove the tooth pick, and replace the drip tip. Ready to vape. :vapor:

On the rare occasion that I have used cartos, I've always used a syringe with a 2" 18 gauge needle (not blunt)
Slid the needle all the way to the bottom of the carto filler, and slowly pulled it out as I injected the juice, thus ensuring maximum saturation.

No muss, no mess, readt to vape as soon as I put the cap back in.

I take off the dt and do what Baditude does. Minus the toothpick. Too afraid to pierce or spliter the airhole silica tube thingy. Be honest Bad, you still blow 'em out from time to time no?

James, the only folks with syringes should be doctors and patients :)

Well, I'm an insulin dependant diabetic that gives himself about 12 injections a day...

However, those particular needles are too fine to pull our thck juice through...

BUT any good medical or lab supply will sell you these...

I can respect that, VV_James. I swear by needle nose bottle tops I guess because syringes still spook me, even at age 35 :)

ETA: OP if you choose to do the shakedown method then please take care of not getting any juice in your eyes, can't stress that enough. Not fun, folks.

I like syringes because they're precise and I DIY a lot...
However, if they give you the willies, you can get them with blunt tips even on Amazon.com cheap!

You can also flush out used syringes with Everclear and get a 50 pack 14 gauge needles for them cheap!
Hell, read the reviews, and you'll instantly know that it's mostly vapers buying them up LOL!!

I use carto tanks but what I do to get the carto ready is I add about 10 drops let it sit for about 20 minute and add another ten...They are the Boge f16 so they don't have a lot of filler. Then I put them in my tank and let it sit for about 20 minutes.

If you like cartos a tank is the way to go. You get that just filled vape every time! I got one of these to begin with and its priced cheap but very sturdy and you can put almost any juice in them.

Pro DCTank Tube

These are the cartomizers I use. Once you get the hang of getting them properly primed my cartos easily last through a 30 ml bottle of juice!

Boge F16 510 DCT Single Coil Cartomizer

Now if you decide you like the carto tanks I have a couple of these. These are rock solid and can take a lot of abuse even though they are made of glass.

Alright, so it's not just me then. Phew!
I do the tilt & drop out of my "to go" 6ml bottles and rarely ever get any in the center hole.
I always thought most people drip into their drip tip.
The only people I know who vape use the pen style batts with pre-filled cartos. Most of them still smoke analogs too and so did I until I stopped using the pen style e-cigs. They just don't cut it if you're trying to stop analogs.
