I tried doing a search and didn't come up with anything .. how many of you DIY'ers sell juice to others? I'm not sure the legality of it, but since it's unregulated I have to assume it's ok? Not talking on a huge scale like MBV, but maybe selling a 30ml bottle to a friend now and then. I figure it could help offset the cost of the supplies. I have 2 friends that have started vaping since I started, and one more on the way. I'd love to be able to help them avoid the high juice costs at the local B&M's (although one of the guys I buy juice from has fantastic juice at fantastic prices.) Just wondering if anyone else has any experiences with this they care to share.

Don't see anything wrong with it as long as you keep it small. Once you start selling to unknown people and making money, it becomes a business. I see it as your friends helping you pay for supplies rather than selling. Like I make things and sometimes my friends want me to make them things too. I'll buy the supplies and they will reimburse me the costs. It's the same thing.

I wouldn't recommend it. You could wind up losing a lot of 'friends.' I started giving away 6 ml bottles after a friend would taste one of my juices. Then they wanted bigger bottles and I asked them for cost of materials. This didn't go over well with a couple of my "friends" who started being a bit unfriendly because I wouldn't give them 30 ml bottles for free. Then some of them wanted special mixes made to order and I charged them cost + labor. Now I don't have very many friends left. Although it's good to know who your true friends are.

Yeah... If they wouldn't pay for the materials, I think that shows the weren't real friends to begin with. :(

No but, I do mix for my family (not living with me) they buy my PG and VG, I buy my nic and flavorings then, we all get all the juice we need in the flavors we like. None of that bunch can cook (unless open box, add water nuke for 3 minutes is considered cooking) so they are terrified of even trying to mix juice LOL.

I have 2 people that I mix for besides my wife and myself. They have given me names of others who may want me to mix for them but I have let them know that this is my hobby and I don't want to get so involved that it takes up more of my free time. I mix about every 2 weeks and the fee I get is nominal and just helps with supplies.

If I have to repair an amp, the customer has to pay for parts and labor, even friends and family. If they're good friends or close family, I may cut the labor, but not the parts. I'm not a millionaire. Even my own mother paid me back for the vaping hardware and juice that I ordered for her. She insisted on it.

They wouldn't expect to get free stuff at the B&M, they should not expect it from you. They should at least be willing to pay for the materials, unless you're using them as guinea pigs for testing stuff.

I find the Less Money is involved with Friends and Family, the less Problems there are.

You give you a 30ml to someone and they don't like it, No Big Deal. But you sell a 30ml Bottle to someone and the Potential for a Problem Arises.

I also Don't like to become Dependent on Making e-Liquid for anyone. And selling e-Liquids to people I know is a Great way to do that.

I agree. If I am testing out a mix and want a second opinion I always give it away but still ask for constructive criticism.

So sad. Sounds like a lot of your so-called friends were just taking advantage of you.

My parents are computatardz. They don't haz interwebz. I feel obligated to mix their menthol for them. It saves me the hassle of making an order, printing the invoice and having them reimburse me. I make them 180ml of menthol tobacco, once a month and charge them $30. This gets them by and keeps them off the stinkies. I still have to order cartos for their tanks. Luckily, I can rebuild their protank heads.

As far as friends, I don't know that I've ever charged for any juice. I've passed some along as a "tell me what you think" kinda deal, but never at a cost. If any asked me to produce a specific flavor I'd charge for materials. It's only fair. I wouldn't feel right about profiting from friends tho.
