Do you vape for nicotine, habit, or flavor?

I think I may be vaping simply because I just love the tasty flavors out there. I've only tried a handful so far due to costs, but I'm so addicted to the flavor of my ADV. I certainly think habit is part of it as a relatively new non-smoker, but I'm wondering if I may not be vaping more simply for the flavor. It's curbed my craving for sweets and just makes me happy. I've even considered dropping from 3mg to 0mg to see if it makes any difference, but I figured I better use up my small stash here first. :)

Just wondered what everyone's general thoughts are on their own vaping experience.

Mostly habit. I still use some nic, but I've been flavorless from the start. When I did grab a little bottle of flavored and used just a few drops in a tank, I definitely vaped a bit more. It was weird because I wasn't hungry or do I have a sweet tooth. Didn't even taste that great. I guess the tastebuds just need exercise. Maybe it releases chemicals in the brain that makes a person feel good.
Funny because I can go without food for 20 hrs easily and really only hydrate because of needing caffeine.

Flavor and nic for me, i dipped for 15 years so the hand to mouth thing wasnt a major factor. though oddly enough i was never really into the menthol/minty juices, even though my goto was a long cut mint snuff. Lately though i have been more into the flavors of my juices than the nic hit i get.

All about the nic for me.

Started out with flavored juices for a while. Ended up on unflavored, mostly because I never got a good flavor experience. Honestly couldn't taste them, even when I switched things up, changed flavors often, and the like. I have a very muted sense of smell though, and it carries into my sense of taste. I have the same issue with foods, end up eating spicy stuff for the most part so I can get more taste from it.

Anyways, after moving to unflavored and honestly not missing trying to get a good taste experience from vaping, I was sold on it. Primarily becuase my coils/builds/wicking lasted forever. Also figured no reason to be vaping flavorings meant for food use if I wasn't getting anything out of it. The wife actually complains if I switch back to something flavored now and she can't stand the smell of me vaping flavored e-liquids.

Anyways, LOVE unflavored juice. DIY is a sure bet for me and ridiculously inexpensive since I'm not even adding flavorings. Plus, I can change my nic levels at any time. Currently using 2.4 mg when I sub-ohm and 12mg when I toodle puff. I know I can find premixed unflavored for a around $35/gallon (3mg), but still prefer DIY so I can control the VG/PG ratio and nic levels and can mix it for much less than that.

Agree that dropping the nic completely will be a good way to know for sure. Would suggest keeping some 3mg on hand when you give the 0mg a shot. You might be surprised at what you're missing. :) Depending on your tank/build, 3mg can deliver a good amount of nic. I've been trying to get down to 1.5mg, but find that as I go lower, I vape more volume. Might consider bumping my nic up some so I'm not vaping as much liquid throughout the day.

All three. I am an ex-smoker though.

You can test your theories on yourself by trying no nic, nic gum (no hand to mouth), or no nic vaping.

I'm not sure I'd cultivate even a nic habit (from this vantage point) especially if I were a non-smoker. As far as I'm concerned, the less I'm addicted to the better.

I do know removing nic would probably be a suicide-smoking move, for me, at this point as a decades long smoker.

Zero nic here. Habit mostly, but I do like the tastes. If you are thinking of substituting one habit for another, you could do worst than choosing vaping.

    Nicotine.
    Flavor.
    Habit.
Cool factor (Head nod to Coastal Cowboy)

And my dogs love it. Seriously. When I smoked they would run away from the smoke. Wanted nothing to do with it. When I vape they actually sniff at it like they enjoy it. Been trying to figure out how to make a Pavlovs Dog vaping unit for them but they would probably run up my juice bill.

Nic for me as I have tried no nic but get that "black fog" in my brain if I don't get enough nic in my system. The flavors keep vaping from being boring though I do flavorless at times. Ex-dipper so no hand-to-mouth issues. In all reality if I could get off nic I would stop vaping.
