I treat it the same as smoking..if smoking is prohibited, I don't vape...................

So in the park where smoking is prohibited, you think no one should vape there. And now there are apartment complexes that prohibit smoking in the apartments. So even in ones own home, in those apartments, you would agree, no one should vape.

Treating vaping the same as smoking definitely tells the uninformed: vaping IS the same as smoking. That is the message you believe all should understand.

I do not vape indoors. Will however vape all the way up to the door of a business. My company used to allow for people to vape in the office, well not allow more like not yell at you, until someone decided that they were going to do it in a meeting with some very important people and refused to stop. The next day an email came out stating that vapors have to conform to the smokers policy.

I was wondering if you had the guts to vape at a restaurant or mall or where ever, or would it just not be worth it because of the dirty looks and assumptions? I'm thinking of taking a few crafty vapes in the movies.

I don't vape in any public places. I'm too afraid of the dirty looks and questions and possibly being asked to leave. I wish ecigs were better understood so that there wouldn't be so much stigma attached.

Outside in public? Yes, anywhere and everywhere outdoors unless there is a sign stating that vaping is prohibited. Indoors? Not in most places. I do vape in several different bars, restaurants, and breweries, but I always ask before doing it the first time. A year ago the employees/bartenders/wait staff typically hadn't herd of vaping, and most kept and open mind while I explained it to them. These days it seems that most know what it is and are quick to allow it or say no. I also vape at work. The boss was quick to give me permission once he understood what it was. I don't vape in his office, any of the salesman's offices, or in customer areas, but everywhere else is game. I do vape in hotel rooms unless they already have a policy against it. I do not stealth vape anywhere, but I also do not blow huge clouds when out and about.

I still try to keep to places that smoking is allowed out of common courtesy to others but I do stealth vape a few draws on my job where smoking is not allowed.
I like thick vapor (generally run 1 ohm coils on mech mods) but am not really a cloud chaser. Still I feel that too many people don't know the difference between vaping, and smoking, and I am producing large enough clouds to certainly be noticed so try not to make to many waves. The last thing I want to do is leave a bad impression of vaping on those still undecided.

I will vape:
In my car (although I never smoked in my car)
Walking down the street
Pretty much anywhere outdoors (even if in front of a 'no smoking' sign).

Try not to vape:
At a food establishment indoors
in any confined space (elevator, hallway, etc)

I don't vape in my house since I didn't smoke in my house.
Because it has replaced cigarettes for me I find it best to stick to the same routine I had for smoking (don't want to over do it you know).

I understand that it's a touchy subject. I just don't advocate "poking the bear", so to speak. An all out vaping ban, like most states have with smoking would suck.
It would, but the question is, why do people comply? Have we really become such sheep? Most of these bans have fines lower than a traffic ticket and most people roll through stop signs when it's safe to do so, yet when it comes to personal freedoms like smoking and vaping, we're good little children and don't even question other's "authority" to control us?

I own a business. For a number of years it was technically illegal for me to smoke in my own office. I smoked anyway. If vaping were treated as smoking currently is, well, I'd ignore that "law" too.

I'm a libertarian. I don't believe in smoking bans. I think private businesses should be able to allow whatever legal activity they want in their establishment.

Cigars were very similar, and in my state, cigars are banned everywhere that cigarettes are, even cigar shops.
Seriously? I was never into cigars, but if I were a cigar-shop owner in your state.... Oh nevermind, I simply wouldn't live in MD to begin with. :D

We have vape shops around here that are basically a liquor license away from being a place that I would love to hang out in on a weekend night.
BYOB?

I'm more of a sneaky vapor. Close the door to my office with the window cracked, under my sweatshirt at the movies, and then pretty much where ever they allow smoking. Just hate going out in the cold and snow in the North East, like I did while using analogs.

Exactly the same here.

I have vaped on downtown city streets and at a dog park with nary a second glance, though on one occasion I did get a big phony 'Cough! Cough!' from a passerby who thought it was plain ciggy smoke. One time I vaped at Bed Bath and Beyond - it wasn't crowded and I just slipped in between the big window treatment displays for a couple of toots. No one was around. I don't care much about what other people think, but I'd just rather not have to explain myself or deal with security or whatnot. And I do consider it a politeness issue, so I wouldn't do it around a lot of people. The nice thing about a quick toot in BB&B is that I know I won't set anything on fire or leave an unpleasant odor or ashes. I wish everyone just knew what it was and I could vape anywhere and everywhere without confrontation. That would be swell, but not a big deal.

I'm the same as most here - I'll vape in public, or anywhere smoking is allowed. I share an office with the other folks, and won't vape if they're there - actually, I have a couple of times, just demoing my device when they were curious. Their comment was that it smelled nice! When I'm alone in the office, I'll take an occasional puff on a tank or clearo setup, something that won't make massive clouds. Mostly I don't want to draw attention from someone in another office. I've no doubt my very conservative company would ban indoor vaping if anyone complained.
