As far as I know, Chinese standards are to the U.S. what U.S. standards are the EU.
I trust the EU standards FAR more than the U.S., which I consider no better, and often worse, than Chinese.

So, I wonder how it would be received if I started a post with a title something like "Would you vape juice from the U.S., or only from Europe?". What would that imply about U.S. standards? It would be much more logical, rational and fact based than the natural implication that is drawn from this thread's title.

WV, it is an honest concern. There is a general perception out there that Chinese products, in general, are of dubious quality. You should not fault someone for lack of specific knowledge about the large Chinese juice manufacturers combined with concern for personal safety.

And, yes, I actually fully understand why you are reacting this way, but I don't think he will right now. In time, he may change his stance, but there is no point in being aggressive.

I don't like "broad-brush" condemnation of any group based on the failures of others in non-related endeavors. It would be just as fallacious to state all US based food processing plants are dangerous because a few had poor sanitary conditions.

The last thing we need in the vaping community is posts that question vaping safety without evidence. I would definitely support inspections and testing for safety in any and all facilities. Wild accursations, however, are not helpful. Remember there are more than just people who vape viewing this forum, taking notes and wanting to use any negative comments they can to disparage the vaping community.

The electronic cigarette concept first appeared in a patent acquired by Herbert A. Gilbert in 1963... the Chinese invented the modern e-cig ..

What I can't figure out is why you've appointed yourself as the Defender of the Chinese ..

And what I can't figure out is why you make comments that have no relevance other than you are the King of the One Liners with no substance. But that has been your modus operandi quite consistently.

I don't see it as defender of the Chinese, but as a defense of rationality and truth. At least in this case, reality has a Chinese bias.

The unfounded bias against Chinese ejuice is a case where misinformation costs people money for no good reason. If someone wants to vape only U.S. juice for "patriotic" reasons, that's their prerogative. If they're spending money because they've been misinformed, the deserve to be properly informed.

....or ours less reasonable.

No where did I say anyone else's choice was less reasonable.
Saw Tooth, I am glad you started this thread and asked the question. The china bashing is too often a side note in other threads and seldom gets addressed. New users read it and buy into it without the discussion that has happened here. This disussion is a good thing! This industry is unregulated and users need to be informed as much as possible to make their own decisions. That is the best use of this forum... over marketing!
The number of "US vendors" exploded in 2009, 2010. Newbies found ecigs, made an order from china, saw the profit margin, started a website, resold china products at a profit..., mixed "their own" juice.... with whatever... whereever...
I have been more comfortable buying China e-liquids for this reason. It became impossible to sort through the random new vendors with fanboy reviews. I tried a couple and was dissappointed.
You really have to do what you are comfortable with. Open discussion is never a bad thing.

FTW. How long have the antis been beating us on the head about that DEG? 2-3 years now? How much does it help the enemies of vaping when we ouselves throw around a bunch of unfounded fears and accusations about a country that probably makes 90% of all the ejuice in the world?

The anti-Chinese bias exists, as silly as it is given that a majority of products sold in the US come from China.

If the media goes with "E-cigarettes are not safe. In fact, our investigation discovered an earth shattering truth! Stay tuned and prepare to be blown away! " And after the break "Most e-cigarette components and the so called e-liquid they use are imported from CHINA"-- that would actually have the desired impact :(

My point is that, in spite of what we know or believe to be true, we should expect people like Saw Tooth to hold a pre-conception that Chinese liquid is unsafe. Of course we should try to share what we think is right with her, but accusing her of undermining the vaping community with her expected preconception... that's a little harsh, don't you think?

I use USA juices just for the mental candy that I am supporting our local economy. More specifically I have been buying from vapealicious. Awesome customer service, fresh made to order juice and great flavor variety.

That's what I mean. That's perfectly cool. I'll assume you're under no delusions that your juice's nicotine, and probably it's PG, came from an American lab. If you buy USA juice to support a local economy, that's perfectly valid and rational. If you think it's necessarily any safer, you're only fooling yourself.

I can fully understand that position. Big difference between that and one being safer than the other. I do the same thing when possible although my head tells me it probably makes little difference in the world economy.

I also believe that the original post was just stating an unknowing fear based on media hype in the last few years, nothing more. It's just that most new people will not understand all the issues facing the vaping community and how we need to be aware of those powerful interests opposing this community. Not to mention that there is no basis for that fear. My reaction or over-reaction was due in part to seeing this type of post/thread, especially in the new members section, for about the 50th time.

When I think of "Made in America"... I think of big tobacco adding ammonia to cigarettes so the chemicals in the smoke cross the blood brain barrier faster and increase my addiction...

I think of "Pink Slime", GMO food, Bovine Growth Hormone, E-coli Broccolli, Salmonella Poultry, Pesticide Overuse, Agricultural antibiotic abuse, Asbestos brake linings, Arsenic drinking water, The Pinto and the Corvair.
