I would say I probably do, which is why I use 6mg nic and will be moving down to 3mg on my next order. I vape more freely at home than I smoked, but unlike when I smoked, I do not feel timed like I did smoking. With an analog you know you have a limited time to finish, so there is a shorter time between drags. With vaping, for me at least, I just pick it up and take a draw whenever I feel like it. I go through about 6ml of juice a day.

I was an outside smoker only for almost 19 years of my 40+ year smoking habit. Before I started vaping, I counted how many drags I would take on a cig and the results came up to 18 max. PAD X 18 = 360 drags on a cig per day. More or less.

When I started vaping, it seemed like I was going way over that. My wife and a couple others I was around a lot commented that I was constantly hitting the vape and openly questioned if I was intaking way more nic then with the cigs. Then I picked up an MVP2 and paid attention to the puff counter. To my surprise, the highest count I ever got was about 320 and normally would not exceed about 240. Some days I would not even hit 200.

Thinking about it, it does make some sense for my "habits" anyway. Smoking outside, especially during winter time, I would bundle up to step outside and would want to get every benefit from the effort that I would almost inhale the smoke with every breath. And if I would let a couple hours pass between "bundles", I might light two up to satisfy my needs. Being able to vape inside, be it the house or car, I would maybe take a hit every 5 to 10 minutes.

Adding it all up and taking into consideration the nobody really watched or counted cig puffs outside, cigs were a "series of sprints" lasting 5 - 10 minutes done every 1 - 2 hours. Vaping is "a marathon" of continual, occasional puffs stretched out over the day. And once again, the tortoise wins out over the hare.

And that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :vapor:

I vape about the same as I used to smoke, which was 1+ packs / day. I think I vape 2-3 times an hour when I'm home and once every few hours when I'm at work.

I use an RDA and drip 6 mg for my go to all day vape flavors

If I'm vaping a decadent juice like dessert or custards, I buy those in 0 or 3 mg so I can drip a few times, cause they're just so damn yummy.

Good point, most people never really counted puffs, we just smoked until the cig was gone. I like that puff counter feature on my mvp too.

Puff counters are interesting, but since it cannot differentiate between a 4 second puff or a 10 second puff, it's really not that good a tool to compare one vaper to another, just to see what YOU are doing day to day, if you track it.

Yes. I usually chain vape most of the time. I was a heavy smoker about 30 - 35 a day superkings. I'm not in the least bit worried about it though. And I fact thinking about my reply to this thread made me realise there has been a few times in the last two or three days where I have not vaped quite as much. Just because I've been busy doing something and not thought about vaping.

Happy vaping. :)

I used to vape a lot more often than I smoked the first year or so after I switched. Didn't bother me, I was trying to get rid of the cigarette addiction and if I had to vape more to get past that, so be it.

These days I vape a lot less often, but I vape at higher power so I'm vaping about the same amount of juice as when I first started, about 4 ml per day. It's mostly all zero nic now too.
